wasabi_VA Posted Thursday at 12:59 AM Posted Thursday at 12:59 AM Wore my thin sun protection hoody today but wished it was just a little thicker. Know of a sun protection hoody that is kinda between a sweatshirt and the regular really thin hoodies that are like tissue paper and sold everywhere? Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted Thursday at 01:14 AM Posted Thursday at 01:14 AM Im a bit of a hypocrite by saying this, (as i wear my sun shirts any chance i get, even when im not fishing) but IMO sun shirts are only good for hot days when you need full coverage and a thin layer to prevent overheating. This time of year or fall ill just wear a flannel, coat, or 1/4 zip. Add some mineral based sunscreen to the face/neck/ears and throw a gaiter over the neck. If you think the UV rays will go through any of your warmer clothes just throw a sun shirt on under them. It will barely add any bulk, nor will it make you feel too warm. To my knowledge most if not all sun shirts are made for fishing in the heat and are very thin. 1 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted Thursday at 01:38 AM Super User Posted Thursday at 01:38 AM Look at HUK and. AFTCO. The AFTCO has a built in vented face covering you can pull down. Both are worth the price. Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted Thursday at 01:43 AM Super User Posted Thursday at 01:43 AM Or get a fleece or down vest. When you hit the shoulder season when it’s foggy and 45 in the morning and then warms up to 75 and sun at by noon it’s time for layers. 1 Quote
BayouBill Posted Thursday at 02:26 AM Posted Thursday at 02:26 AM I have the AFTCO hoodie and I like the weight, couldn’t get used to the face “gaiter” down around my neck when I didn’t need it, I cut it out Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted Thursday at 02:59 AM Super User Posted Thursday at 02:59 AM Duluth Trading Company makes close-to-lifetime hoodies. Thick too. And their sales are great. 1 1 Quote
Rockhopper Posted Thursday at 05:37 AM Posted Thursday at 05:37 AM I've always loved these for lightweight hoodies. Always use them for my baseball teams. Really good quality. Can get them in short sleeve if desired. Pretty inexpensive too. https://a.co/d/1K5aZ4U Quote
rangerjockey Posted Thursday at 11:26 AM Posted Thursday at 11:26 AM You can't do any better than the AFTCO reaper. Quote
Junk Fisherman Posted Thursday at 11:39 AM Posted Thursday at 11:39 AM Rather than buy another shirt, why not just wear something underneath it? 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted Thursday at 12:01 PM Super User Posted Thursday at 12:01 PM ^ Layering is something we up north learn early - especially for those days that start cold and end up warm. 2 Quote
