I am wanting to put it on a Gloomis Bronzeback 6’9” ml rod.  Right now I have a Curado 70 XG on it with 8# line.  The lightest thing I can throw is a TRD on a 1/8 oz head.  I would like to be able to use lighter Neds and maybe 10# line.  What Shimano should I get?

Curado BFS if you just want to buy something from TW.  The Scorpion BFS if you want something without the green accents and can use buy from Japan used markets.  If this is the 07 rod a Scorpion 1000xt with Yumeya spool for the 09 Alde would really look the part and match the vintage of the rod.  I have a Scorpion 1000xt with a yumeya spool on a L trout rod with 10# braid.  It's definitely up to the task.

yeah, if you want to throw lighter than 1/8 oz then you need a BFS spool.  I don't know the curado, but the aldebaran is nice.  JDM versions @$250 or so.

On a Loomis, the Aldebaran or Aldebaran BFS

The Aldebaran will cast that weight easily but the BFS is just lovely to run.

The Aldebaran is more than twice the price of the Curado.  Is it more than twice as good?
