Super User F14A-B Posted 10 hours ago Super User Posted 10 hours ago What do you prefer and why (if possible) I have several small bottles of Shimano oil including a bottle with a darker green cap vs the normal blue. The darker green bottle came with my Curado BFS reel for use with the micro bearings. Seems fine to me, but I also use Lucas oil for fishing reels just not on bearings. 1 Quote

Last couple came from ebay I think. So propably not state side. When I find it, I stock up. But it lasts a while which is good. A-Jay 1 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted 9 hours ago Super User Posted 9 hours ago I’ve never seen a reason to use anything other than Shimano oil. 1 Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted 9 hours ago Super User Posted 9 hours ago I'm a TSI 321 fan for spool bearings 2 Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted 7 hours ago Super User Posted 7 hours ago I checked Carolina Tackle, also OOS. I'm surprised Tackle Trap lists spools, bearings, and grease, but no oil. ZPI F-Zero Nano Finesse is go-to for me. except, that SiN palm bearing runs dry. Spool w/ 4-mm shaft end has a custom KTF IXA hybrid bearing and gets lowest-viscosity oil. 4 Quote
wvhunt Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I see the youtube guys say to only use oil made specifically for fishing reels, but I use whatever various quality oil I have lying around. Normally it's a gunoil of some sort. I think there's a lot of snake oil salesmen in the oil business, both gun and fishing oils. 2 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted 6 hours ago Super User Posted 6 hours ago I have been using TSI 321 on bearings and Bantam oil on everything else. I also use the BFS oil Shimano supplied with a reel. This stuff is good but can be short lived. 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted 4 hours ago Super User Posted 4 hours ago TSI 321 on all my bearings 1 Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted 3 hours ago Super User Posted 3 hours ago it’s a light oil with a needle applicator that I can get easily and works well. I’ll also use it to lube anything that needs a light thin oil. Door hinges are a good shout. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005KW7NA8?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3 1 Quote
ike8120 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Look at High Speed Oil from Boca Bearings also Spool Speed SF Lube from Spoolspeed.com What I have been using is ReelX oil. This stuff is really good. www.corrosionx.com 1 Quote
ABU is overpriced Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Been using the Light and the Ultra Light oils from Hedgehog for over a decade. No reason to try anything else, they do their job perfectly. 1 Quote
