Opinion on Spiderwire Braid?

The one time ive used it, it was horrible. I used 15# braid and I got a ton of wind knots, the line started fraying, and for some reason the thing had memory. Braid should not have memory.

I like spiderwire for 40-65lbs.  Anything below and I’ve had terrible experiences.

The 8 strand stealth smooth is pretty good and the regular 4 strand stealth is okay. Wouldn’t touch their EZ Braid with a 10 foot pole, that stuff is awful.

 

I tend to stick with PowerPro and Sufix 832 when it comes to braid.

I tried Spider Wire and immediately hated that stuff! To me it was very stiff and almost felt brittle. I agree with PBBrandon on the 832 and PowerPro.

Been using Spider Wire Stealth for years. Use KVD line conditioner. 20lb.

@PBBrandon nailed it with the EZ Braid, that stuff is terrible.

 

I did have good luck with a a different model in the heavier pound test. Seaguar Smackdown has been consistent in all pound test for me so I’ve stuck with that for many years now.

I have used it for decades without issue. It is not my favorite, but I am not hesitant or upset about using it.
