I’m looking to buy a big spool of floruocarbon, maybe like 500 yards.
I want 15 lb because I use it for a lot of stuff. What brand would you recommend? If you don’t mind include the price in the comment.

I made the switch to Seaguar fluoro 25 years ago over tippet knots breaking on 30+" Alaska rainbows using Rio fluoro.  AbrazX became my only fluoro on conventional tackle, 12-lb bulk spool, for the next 20 years, until I made a wholesale switch to coated braids.

I've never tried Sunline, but it gets good reviews on BR forum.

Seaguar 12-lb fluoro tippet here

Lines below won't meet your cost requirement, and always bought in single-charge spools.

When I added salt finesse 15 years ago, I found all the right properties for 4-lb in Kamikaze copolymer from Oz.  My two finesse fluoro spools have Toray ExThread, which is the limpest low-memory line I've ever tried, and also the Most expensive fluoro made.  I have a two other 10-lb spools charged with Tatsu.  Also noted Tatsu has usable low memory after it's been spooled and put away for a couple years.

It may not be the best but I have had good luck with Seaguar  red label.  I’ve been using it for years.  My main usage is 12# and I buy 1000 yd spools from Amazon.

You’re gonna get an array of suggestions from just about every manufacturer’s product line.

My advice is to remember above all when it comes to flouro line, you absolutely will get what you pay for.

Check out Seaguar or Sunline product lines

I use sunline assassin in the 25lb. on my glide bait and A-rig rods. It's reasonable and handles well.

I’ve tried various cheap FC lines and they aren’t good for anything except being a leader. The best FC I buy as mainline is Invizx

I've been using Vicious for a number of years and am happy with it on baitcasters.

$31-$40 for 500 yds.

So do you guys think flouro is worth it over a good mono?

Depends on what you’re throwing. Big thing is that mono floats and FC sinks, so for bottom contact and moving baits, FC gets lures to depth better. Topwater you’d want mono so the line sits on top of the water

I bought a 600yd spool of FC Sniper 14# and it's been good for me so far.

I think the best fluoro on the market, hands down is Gamma. I don't even look at others anymore.

Another vote for Seguar.  Invisx and Abasx are pretty much interchangeable.  I tried both side by side years ago and decided on Invisx, but they were virtually indistinguishable.

When comparing Fluorocarbon lines look at the diameter per pound test. Seagar and Sunline are identical vs most other being 10% to 20% larger diameter to achieve equal knot strength.

Very important the line diameters are equal to determine casting and strength performance!

Best value IMO is Sunline Sniper and best overall performance Seagar Tatsu and Sunline Shooter, also higher price.

Another vote for InvizX - I've tried a couple others and keep coming back to it.

99% I’m using Yozuri Hybrid. Along with PLine CX and CXX.

I've spooled up two new Daiwa HD 1000 with 16 sunline shooter and 22 pound Daiwa Samurai which I do really like on my GLX F&P rod.

Sunline Sniper for best value. I spool up with Sunline Super FC when i know I'm going to break off and retie a lot and probably have to respool for the next trip. I always buy a few when they are on sale.

You can go cheaper on FC if you're using it for casting gear and want lower lb test #12 or under.  I find that once you get to #15 you run into memory and management issues, especially if you fish in cold water.

For me InvizX #15 24$(but I buy it on sale) is a go to, do it all line for MH gear.  Red Label will work, but there's a noticeable difference in management and memory.

Im sure there are great lines out there.  I know a couple guys that I really trust, and they say P Line Tactical @25$ish is excellent.  Another guy I know who makes a living guiding and fishing tourneys, swears that $ for $ Spro Gouken is the best value on the market @20$ and outperforms line double its price.
