Abu Garcia round, ball bearings on each end of the spool, black.  Looks like it's less than 5:1.

I believe they made a lot of 4.7:1 reels along with 5:1’s, plus some slower 3.x ones. Just find an imperfection somewhere on the spool, or put a sliver of tape, knotted line, etc. on the spool, grab the handle and make one full revolution counting the number of times the imperfection passes by. You’ll get a real close estimation of gear ratio that way.

5000C gear ratio was 3.6.  

Introduced in 1973, 5500C with 4.7 gears

(this is 4500C introduced in 1976)
