No more fishing license for me!

Now that I’m 65, went to the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission and got my 65+ fishing and trout license. Hoping that I get many years of service out of it.  😉

In MO all we have to have is an id with birthday on it.  Any more they don’t even ask.  But it still costs me $60 to fish your waters.

I get it, I live nine miles from the Louisiana border, 17 from Bussy Brake. Still have to pay full price for an out of state license, $65 or $70 I think.

 

Edit, Just checked, I was close it’s $68.

In NJ it's 70, this will be my 3rd year of not paying for a license here.

We don't get a license here either, just need proof of birthday.

Still have to pay 50$ for an out of state license for NY.

I dropped almost 800 dollars in 2002 for a lifetime license at the ripe old age of 25. Glad I did, they are $45 this year and only going up.

A Tennessee annual fishing license if you're over 65 is $4 or a permanent license for $49.  I'm two years away from being eligible for this.  Unfortunately they are changing it in July.  The annual license for seniors is going up to $21.  There is no permanent fishing license option.   The only other option is a lifetime Sportsman's License that is $368 for age 65+.

@Tennessee Boy, @TnRiver46 I really miss living in East TN. It will always be home for me. I don’t miss paying so much for my fishing license though.

 

Have no idea how truthful this is, but I’ve had two people here tell me that Arkansas is thinking about doing away with the 65+ license.

MN may have one of the cheaper licenses - $25/year - but they make you pay in other ways. I won't be eligible to 'fish for free' for another 25 years...and I'm 65 now. Yep, 90 is the age where you don't pay anymore.

In Ma it gets halved to 18.25 for 65-69, then free after that. Of course they have a $5 Wildlands Conservation Stamp that gets tacked on, kind of like the fees on the electric bill. 2 more till free, at least at the moment.

I should have mentioned that Tennessee does not require a license for older seniors.  That’s people over 100 years old. 😆

First full season for me fishing in Michigan at 65 years old.

Purchased my season 2025 Senior Citizen all species licenses last night on line. 

Dropped a whole $11 bucks on that deal.

So it's $2.20 a piece for the first bag of brown bass.

Everything after that is Gravy !
