Hi people.

Last december I bought the LBTC86MXF, the "jerkbait", rated as 8-20 lbs. Here in Argentina, the oldest models for this rod, rated as 10-17lbs, is the do-everthing-rod-all-purpose, as you can use it -almost- for every place. I have had the older one in my, it is light, very well balance and have plenty power to manage big fish (I have the 12-20 and I find it a little bit tip heavy) but is very hard to find even in used condition, local fisherman dont put on sale that rod.

Finally I put my money on the new model. I dont what happen but the store sent to me other model, the LBTC71MHF, the "all in". Talking to owner, said to me that for any reason that was a mistake, but he recommended that rod like a all-purpose, and the new jerkbait do not share the same power as the last model and even lighter that the old "topwater" model (sound strange to me because the SC rod are stiffer than other brands). Finally said to me that try the "all in" and if I didnt like it, return the rod that he will be sending the jerkbait.

Well, I kept the rod cause I really like it. Now, I want the jerkbait rod hehe. Anyone has/have the older Legend Tournament jerbait rod (10-17 lbs) and how does it compare to the new model (8-20 lbs)?

Funny you should ask that. I JUST bought a used 6'9" St Croix LTB Jerkbait rod from American Legacy and received it just yesterday.

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but I think I already like it. I put a spare SLX MGL 71 on it for now. It is light ( weighs in at 3.9oz on my scale.) With the reel mounted with 12lb flouro, I think it weighed in at 11.3oz.

Weight and balance feels really good and balances right at the front of the reel seat nut. Action seems to be just a bit moderate. Not too much, but the bend seems to come around 1/3 way down the shaft.

Used, but 22´ model or older? I wonder if the new model has the solid backbone like the previus models
