Got2gofish Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I just purchased a 7'10" St. Croix Legend Bass spinning rod and hoped to use it to bomb keitechs on open flats in the Great Lakes. They say the use is "Swimming Baits," but I think it might be better used for a spy bait rod. What are your uses for this rod? Rod Code- LBTS710MMF Quote
Super User GetFishorDieTryin Posted March 1 Super User Posted March 1 Great for spybaits if you use FC, 7'10 starts to get long when you have to drop the tip to bottom trace with braid. Hair jigs Shad raps Tail spinners Grubs/small swimbaits at distance 1 Quote
detroit1 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 As above, but i would also throw any treble hook lure under 1/2 oz. Quote
Hulkster Posted March 1 Posted March 1 That would be a great rod to throw Mepps spinners too. I use the Mepps Black Fury in various sizes all the time as well as the Gold and Orange Aglia. They slay fish. That rod would be great for using the #4 or 5 size on spinning gear Quote
