Notice how many fish were snagged in this last bassmaster tourney that Palaniuk won. Scent would make them commit to the bait better than just swiping at it, imo. Figure it's leaving a trail in the water for them to hone in on. Turns followers into swallowers

Could't agree more Glenn.

I use scent during a tournament or if the bite is tough.

I do think it helps a fish to hold the bait a hair longer, giving me that split second longer to set a hook. An aggressive reaction bite does not require a scent imo.

I finally figure out how to post pics, here's a few fish I caught on cut bluegill with Pro Cure Shad gel smeared on. A fat channel cat, a deformed bass, and a 4 lb bullhead. All within a few days in less than 50 degree water. Did the Pro Cure make difference?? Who knows, but I'm not taking any chances

Using scent in bass fishing really is a mental game for anglers. Some swear by it and others don't, nobody really knows for sure if it can make a great difference or any difference at all. I tried using bang garlic a few years ago and it leaked in my fishing bag and it probably took me 3 months to get the smell out. Never again!
