Is the latest Zillion as small as the new Tat 100?  I have held the Tat, but not the Zillion.

The Zillion 1000 HD is 100 size with MagZ. But since I’ve just re-entered the world of Daiwa since 2006 I’d call on @bulldog1935 for clarification.

Sorry bulldog but you da Man on Daiwa stuff 🤣😂🤣

BTW, it’s a JDM Reel and I paid $560 for my two.. prices are climbing it seems..

Haven't seen any news on the next Daiwa Zillion - current models are still '21 SV TW and '22 HD, both with 34-mm spools.  (New Steez has 32-mm spool).

I own both, the new tatula is definitely more compact, it's a touch narrower and shorter, and palms better than the zillion, but still bigger than the 80.

This is exactly it.  I have the zillion sv, zillion hd, tat 80 and tat 100 and  I feel the tat 100 palms better and is more comfortable in hand.  Plus that groove in the middle is just right for your thumb to rest in.

im holding it weird for the picture to show how a thumb fits in good lol but it does palm really nice.  I think it’s one of my favs from last year.  I’m hoping I feel the same this year.

The new tat is pretty solid and very underrated imo, I'll be springing for a new reel soon for a mh rod and am having a hard time justifying another zillion when the tat has better ergos (imo), metal non-handle sideplate, and the same hyper drive digigear drivetrain. It's giving up a little weight, smoothness, and lighter lure weight handling to the zillion (unneeded for a mh rod anyhow). I think I'm ok with that for an extra hundo in the bank.

that’s how I’m feeling after using the new tat last season next to the zillion.   Now with the new tat sv having  sv boost as well.   Daiwa is just out doing themselves :)

Where does the Tatula 100 SV fit in though? Im guessing same frame as the 24 Tatula? Or no? I know Daiwa loves to change things up

It's the first tat with sv boost, I believe it is the same platform/frame as previous sv w/32mm spool. It's an intriguing one for sure but I prefer a free floating spool for lighter lure applications, my current favorite daiwa sv reel is the alphas sv tw.

I believe the tatula sv 100 is the same frame but the tatula sv 150 is a different frame

Getting some Tat 100's was going to happen already...picked up some spools for them around Christmas.   I just ran across an SLP Zillion that was sweet, and thought maybe it was smaller than it looked.

The AMO spools (right) should be killer.

Hyperdrive in SLPW-Z is something you won't notice until you fish next to '21-Z SVTW - then you notice the extra-smooth drive right away.

I would be tempted by that AMO spool, as well.  But I already had a Ray's SV waiting for mine.  3-mm-deep Ray's is exactly right for PE#1.2 in my target niche.

The 5-mm AMO spool might be perfect for 10-lb mono or 30-lb braid.

To me, SLPW-Z sold without spool and handle is a bonus, because I'd swap both, anyway.

Report back on that Amo please.  I have been eying that one for a while.  It also fits Fuego CT, Tatula CT and 19 Tatula 100.

If they release a new zillion, it better use the same 34mm spool and have an actual zero adjuster that is adjustable. If they don't.............

Agreed, has to have both

Which new tat over the zillion for this case?

Why? Whats the difference in this one?

Also to anybody who can compare, where does the Tat Elite come into play with all this?

See my other comment above.

The standard 24 tatula 100. For the record I'm not saying the tatula is a better reel, just that I don't need the zillions refinement for the applications that particular rod will be used for.

The alphas is an 80 class sized finesse reel with an sv free floating spool.

The tat elite is tuned for distance.
