RLinNH Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I've always laughed at Bass boats. So focused on one thing. Going fast and fishing on a fresh water lake. Can't even put that $90,000 boat in the ocean. What a waste of money!!! These days, not so much. I haven't had a boat now for over 7 years, and paddling around in a kayak is getting old. The idea of a Bass boat has really been warming on my lately. I'm all done with the ocean. Now, $100,000 for a Skeeter, yuh. That's to much. I could swing $55,000 on a Nitro Z18 though...🤔 Not this year, but maybe next winter. Sat in one last weekend. First time ever in a Bass Boat. Wow. That's space to fish!!! Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 22 Global Moderator Posted February 22 Can’t take a bass boat in the ocean you say? Jacob Wheeler says, “hold my beer.” 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 22 Super User Posted February 22 There's plenty of dual purpose boats that resemble "bass boats" in many ways. The boats im looking at are just comfortable picking apart a dock on a lake and can run to the Bahamas on a calm day as well. You might look into skiffs, bay boats, and hybrids before settling on a particular bass boat. 1 Quote

That's something I would be comfortable with putting in the ocean from time to time. Just need to settle on a boat at this point. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 23 Super User Posted February 23 Those Targas pack a ton of features. Quote
TheSwearingAngler Posted February 24 Posted February 24 My father had a Ranger in the 90s, it was beautiful… when he went to sell it we took it out in the ocean once just to say we did.. it jumped from swell to swell… it was bananas. He’s really been trying to get me to get one but I’m just gonna keep collecting canoes. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted February 25 Super User Posted February 25 I like my glitter sled, aka floating dock, aka tackle box on wheels. 😂 2 Quote
MRQturbo Posted February 26 Posted February 26 If I could afford one, I'd be in a 2075 Lund pro v bass... They definitely have their purpose when you enjoy chasing bass 1 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted February 26 Super User Posted February 26 I think about the cost of bass boats and then I think about the $75,000 that bought me five acres of lakefront with 431' of shoreline. It's brimming with bass. 2 Quote

But at my age, if I'm going to buy another boat, I want it to be the boat that is GORGEOUS to my eye. I want my heart in it. And for Pete's sake, I can't stop drooling over these damned "Sparkly" Bass Boats. Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 It ain't glass, and it ain't sparkly...and I really didn't care for the color at first. But it's grown on me quite well. @RLinNH get yourself that sparkly bass boat! You only live once! 1 Quote
Super User Swamp Girl Posted February 26 Super User Posted February 26 @DaubsNU1: You know I'm a paddler, BUT if I were going to buy a boat with a motor, I'd buy yours. And I LOVE its color! 1 Quote
BassKat Posted February 27 Posted February 27 @Swamp Girl Your place is absolutely amazing. I'm more of a minimalist than a purist, but have a touch of purist in me. Your life playbook is spot on. 1 Quote
