As others have already stated, I also like to hunt. I deer hunt for a week with my Father every November. It’s Father-Son time that we share every fall and he is 73 so his days are numbered. I also turkey hunt in the spring for a few days and pheasant hunt after deer season for a month and a half. I rate pheasant hunting higher than the others because it’s priceless time in the field with my loyal 4 legged friend, who was bred for it.

Beyond that, I like to swim, play racquet sports, and ride my mountain bike. My 6 year old son is taking swimming lessons weekly and he’s getting better. Learning to swim and not be afraid of, or intimidated by the water is very important to me for him.

Ive had many hobbies over the years, but only a few stuck. The ones that did i feel like i was put on this earth do.

Bass fishing takes the #1 spot, but because of life and weather (especially PA's winter) i cant do it all the time. So ive also got being a big car fan, mainly the great American V8 (R.I.P.) but i also like some Japanese turbos! Motorcycles too, dual sports and bobbers mostly, but i just love the smell/sound/sights of a two stroke. Im currently teaching myself to play the guitar, but ill mess around with the drums every so often.

Working out is another big one for me, maintaining/gaining the strength and mobility i need along with eating as healthy that i can. Because a strong body, mind, soul, and gut (gut health can break or make the body and mind) can accomplish so much.

Like many on here or any outdoor forum i am also big into the 2A, an avid outdoorsman, mountain biker, kayaker, and a big supporter of the military and the USA.

I also tie flies time to time, after all i started a side business for just that.

And then listening to music, i have a true love for metal, rock, etc... I say often i was born in the wrong time, back then you ladys and gentlemen had real cars, real music, and real people....

As for what defines me, id say having a strong work ethic, along with a good personality where i can talk to anyone (which for trying to get into sales soon is a miracle), paired with having a deep belief in god, even though i dont believe in any religion. As well as trying to do whats right when and where it matters, and even when it doesnt. Im also a big believer in steel sharpening steel so i may also come off as insensitive, blunt, along with not being "correct" or caving in to others just because they speak louder than me. Nor do i sugar coat everyones feelings but i try to be a good person. As you can imagine the younger people my age dont like me.

Outside of fishing I guess the only other things I really get into is cooking and whiskey. I've tried many hobbies over the years and those are the only ones that stuck. Past that ill say I've always prided myself on the fact that I'm reliable, dependable and hard working.

One thing I've really focused on the past several years is learning how to appreciate people. From friends and family all the way to coworkers I've really tried to focus on the good in people instead of only dwelling on their negatives. Guess what I'm really trying to do is realize I'm not perfect and stop being so judgemental of other's. Its been a challenge but it has strengthened many relationships.

I enjoy politics and have a unique blend of political and economic theories.  Promoting local small businesses.  Fighting against anti-small-business corporate initiatives.  Realizing as many crimes are committed with ink pens as with weapons.  Realizing the importance of agreeing to disagree.  On my best days, teaching kids that if they are honest, trustworthy, work as hard for others as they would themselves, and truly care about others, they will be blessed and successful in life.  My biggest hobby is applying junk science to fishing.

I spend the whole month of November at our hunting cabin each year deer hunting.

Really enjoy cutting firewood for myself and the elderly at church.

Enjoy modifying chainsaws.

Been camping with the wife for over 40 years and we're still going strong in the RV.

I'm very close to my 2 daughter's " 26 and 31 " and do all kinds of home improvements for them, yes they keep me busy.

I've been very blessed with health and high energy and hit the ground running every morning.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear!

I totally understand @Glenn reasoning behind not allowing religious & political post. Two subjects that will get out of control in a nanosecond. So Merci Beaucoup to Glenn & all the moderators keep up the good work y'all.

And yes that is my Pastor Dr Wayne M. Dartez on his Harley.

It's Jack Lambert-sized, but I expect not Jack's temperament!

As I progressed through the years, I had a deep desire to leave a mark that would last forever beyond me shedding this mortal coil.  First responders, police, military, medical professionals, all save lives in their own way.  My career path took me down a road where I was able to save the future and financial lives of everyday Americans including those I listed above.  You would think that was enough but I always wanted more.  Then it happened.  I was in charge of an operation in Kentucky where I had around 100 people out in various bank locations.  The weather went bad very quickly.  I was being shadowed by top banking officials from Germany who were learning our processes.  I realized that there was a tornado on the ground and it was heading straight for one of my locations where I had 20 of my employees and 10 bank employees.  I got on the phone and instructed them to immediately go into the bank vault, they resisted because they were in the middle of our operation and wanted to finish.  I told them absolutely not and to get into the vault, no discussion and to do it now.  They complied.  When the sirens stopped and they emerged from the vault, there was nothing left of the bank except for the vault.
I relay that story not to toot my own horn but to show how my lifelong desire to leave an everlasting mark on this world was accomplished when I was awarded my agency’s highest recognition, the Chairman’s award and my name placed on a very elite display in our headquarters here in Washington, D.C.  I was able to retire with the peace of mind that I accomplished one of my lifelong goals.  Not to downplay my wife, children and personal relationships but as a personal goal, I am very content. It has given me valuable peace of mind.

Opinions vary. My friends, family, and all children definitely get the softer side. The other side is kept on the back forty until forced into the game.

205 here, down from 235, still got a ways to go but getting there.

Other than that and fishing, I'm always trying to be the best husband and father I can be. I'm a work in progress there too, but I hope they know how hard I try for them.

@TOXIC: After reading your story, my reaction is that you need a better screen name. Something like "PROTECTOR" or "LIFESAVER."
