dytmook Posted Monday at 04:12 PM Posted Monday at 04:12 PM Good video. Past two seasons my biggest smallies came off a 6th Sense lipless and a Strike King spinner bait in white and chanteuse. I'll be trying those styles again this spring for sure. 1 Quote
The Baron Posted Monday at 04:54 PM Posted Monday at 04:54 PM Whopper Plopper and a Spook are both great producers for me on smallmouth, especially in September when water temps typically start creeping down into the 60’s. 2 Quote
Oldmanbassin Posted Monday at 05:09 PM Posted Monday at 05:09 PM Great Video ! I really like the Bass Resource YouTube channel. After not fishing for so long and coming back it’s a whole new world. 2 Quote

After not fishing for so long and coming back it’s a whole new world. You are so right. I'm an old woman and after fishing again for lmbs after about a half century away, I still don't know what 90% of the Bass Resource guys know. There are soooooo many new lures and techniques and the BR gang remember all their names and have seemingly tried them all. As far as using big lures for smallies, I've caught thousands of brown bass with F13 Rapalas twitched on the surface. 1 Quote
Oldmanbassin Posted Monday at 05:23 PM Posted Monday at 05:23 PM I took a promotion back in 2002 or so and sold off my gear because of how I traveled for work. Then 4 years ago I came back to fish. My soul how much has changed. We had flashers and the first 2D down scans were just coming out. Little fish symbols to boot. I came back to FFS and Whacky Worms and Ned Rigs! Totally lost so I stayed to old school methods but I learned 2-3 new baits a year. I’ve had FFS now for my first full year, I must say it takes practice and an accurate throw. After throwing a Ned Rig for a time I refuse to throw it. I made a rig like it but weedless and I use the same TRD’s 1 Quote
