Rockhopper Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Does anyone have personal experience with this specific rod that is willing to give a review? I cannot find any info on it with the exception of the TW reviewer. I am familiar with the build quality, etc of Cashion. I am just looking for feedback on this specific rod, most notably wondering if it is going to be too light for bfs. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Cashion_ICON_Exclusive_Series_Casting_Rods/descpage-CRTWE.html Quote
Bigbox99 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Try it. I'd get a light Majocraft Days for that money but you do you. Quote

Super User casts_by_fly Posted February 14 Super User Posted February 14 too light for BFS? BFS is as light as you can go on a casting rod. Quote

True, but I am a full believer that you definitely can go too light for bass. For example, my ultralight panfish rod would absolutely suck catching a bass over about a pound or so. That rod is a 5 foot ultralight. The rod in question still needs to be able to handle bass, not just throw light lures. I want to go as light as possible, but still be able to handle a larger fish. 1 Quote
msgf91 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 It's got plenty of power for bass. I use it with 2 lb samurai FC and caught some decent bass. I haven't caught one as big as the one i caught with my Old 18 Authentic yet. Old 18 is another option if you want an UL that can handle bass. 1 Quote
