Hopefully it's ok I post this here.

I will be selling some rods soon. I feel like the pricing is quite fair but wanted to get feedback from you guys if you think some are too high/low. I'm hoping to do pickup/meet up so I don't have to ship. These are the casting rods I'm selling. I take great care of my rods (kind of OCD) so most rods are like new. I'm talking no scratches or anything. Perfectly straight blanks and guides. Some older ones might have a few surface scratches by the hook keeper, but nothing crazy. Rods are listed by length.

Thanks.

Seems more than fair to me and having seen copious pics of your amazing tackle collection, I have no doubts the condition of these rods would be exactly as you said.

Thinking about you buddy, hope you're hanging tough!!!!

Thank you my friend. And it's true, most of the rods you couldn't tell the difference between them and one shipped straight from TW.

And I only put the retail price in there for when I post on FB marketplace. Not everyone are fanatics like us here so they don't realize how much some of these rods cost nowadays.

That's rough.  The position you are in has made me think of you and how I would handle it also.  Hope to see you posting new rods next year.

Man it's so tough. Obviously family and friends are my top love and priority. But my fishing stuff means everything to me.

I have had good luck selling used fishing gear at half what it cost to buy the item new.  Items priced this way sell quickly, and both buyer and seller are usually happy with the deal they get.  You have quality well maintained gear, so you may want to price your equipment above my standard half of the cost of new.  Maybe 2/3  to 3/4 cost of new would be better on some of your higher value rods.

After you've had them in the market for a bit, consider calling american legacy. While you'd have to ship they will likely buy them all. I think they are going to be below 1/2 of retail though.

Hey @NorthernBasser I can't begin to imagine what you are going through but I suppose if it were me I'd plan for the worst but also hope for the best and there have been instances where others got a terminal diagnosis only to turn it around and beat it. Not saying I'd plan for that outcome, but there are a lot of things about life that we don't understand and sometimes doctors can be wrong.

I've only been on this site for a couple years but I always enjoyed your posts and just wanted to remind you (again) that you have a lot of people pulling for you.

In terms of the prices they look fine. I've sold a few things on FB marketplace as I've climbed up the fishing gear ladder and as others have said 50% off list seems to be about the sweet spot in most instances, so generally speaking I'd say maybe start a bit above there to give yourself some negotiating room which it seems like you have done. I also noticed older stuff tends to be a little harder to sell and some brands do better than others.

But more importantly please keep in mind you can still fish if you want to, and even if you don't you can always still post stuff or reply to posts here...even if it's just to say hello...or show someone with less experience how to save some money get a much better deal on something they were thinking about buying :).

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. As far as the rods, the prices look good to me. I see a few that I would definitely be interested in if I had the funds available right now. Good luck with the sales. Keeping you in my prayers.

I think those prices are more than fair, and a couple caught my eye

Hudson or even River Falls would be a good meet-place for me if it comes to that.

Take care pal, and know that we're in your corner.
