Hopefully all you die hard Shimano fans can shed some light for me. I am wanting to pick up a Stella, but the new ones are about 4 years old. I would rather wait until a new one comes out, however I have not not been staying up on release dates. Does anyone think we will see a new one any time soon, end of 2025, early 2026? I’m not in a hurry. Last time I did this, I purchased a Certate and they released a new like months after I received it!

Unless they are doing something magical with the Stella,  I would look at the Twin Power.  I've got two now and they are a pleasure to fish at about half the cost of the Stella.

I agree with this, a lot of the features of the current Stella have been implemented on the Twin Power. I have one of these on order from the local bait shop. Should be coming in fairly soon. Excited to check it out. Something still tells me I should try a Stella. Just want to want to see if they put any new features on it.

I know the twin power and Vanquish are very different reels but if the new twin power is anything like the vanquish I have I will be very pleased.

Here's what the math tells me.

They improved Stella so much for '18, the only thing they changed in '22 was slightly increasing the spool pitch - slightly lengthen the spindle.  This tells me they decided '18 Stella was as near perfect as they can get it, and overdesigned, so they pushed the design a little harder with '22 increased spool pitch.

Makes me even happier all my (worm-drive) Shimanos are from the '18 Stella series.
