can someone tell me what makes the calcutta a better reel than the cardiff?  can you also tell me what makes it cost more?  i have a cardiff 100A and love it.  i'm going to get another one.  i thought if i like this cardiff so much i might really like the calcutta.   have any of you guys owned both models?  and is the calcutta so much better?

Why does the Chronarch cost more than the Curado or the Curado more than the Citica?

Better components.

My son has a calcutta and i have 2 cardiff reels.  I've fished with both.  Both are very nice.  I absolutley love my cardiff reels.  However, i did have some problems with one of the cardiffs internal parts kinda things.  If there is an advantage i think it would have to be....dependability!  As for casting and smoothness etc.. i think they are very close.  Dont know if the price is worth it.  I guess that depends on your pocket book.

You don't have to take off the handle side to get to the brakes, Dartanium drag, aluminum sideplates, septon grips, and general build quality would be the design improvements. The calcutta is also offered in a wider array of sizes. Not giving any opninion just listing the differences I'm aware of.
