I am heading to BPS tomorrow to pick up my yearly round of  fishing stuff and I am still undecided as to which rod would be the best fit for either a Shimano Curado 7:1 or a Daiwa Zillion 7.7:1.  I will be using this set up to fish in heavy cover with mainly buzz baits and frogs.

Thanks for any advice.

A good frog rod is going to be 7 ft Mh or H action, extra fast tip, and your going to want to throw braid, so it should be well made with good guides.

A good buzzbait rod is probably more like 6'6" MH moderate to fast tip.

So I suppose a good in between rod would be a 6'10" MH Fast.

St Croix Avid or Shimano Crucial should match up nicely with the CU 200 or the Diawa.

Take a look at the G.Loomis MBR844C. This is a rod that will serve many purposes, including those that you mentioned. If I were to have just one baitcasting rod, this would be the one.

I have this in an IMX that I use for t-rig and pitching. My opinion, can't beat it.

Thanks again to all for the replies.

I listened and got the MBR844C IMX Loomis.  This seems to be the rod everyone has suggested, even the salesman at BPS.

Seems to be a perfect fit.

Just in case I also looked at a St.Croix 7'' H Legend Tournament, MBR844C GLX and believe it or not a BCR864 Senko rod.  All fine rods but the IMX had the best balance and feel.

This forum is just the best, thanks.
