rtwvumtneer6 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Anyone want to show off their Jon-bass boat conversion? Real world experience with a 1754 would be ideal. Tips, photos, etc. are welcome. Looking for any suggestions/advice I can get. Plans are TM and graph at the bow, tiller TM on the transom, extend the back deck (and maybe install a livewell), and a bilge pump. Additional storage would be nice, but I'm not sure it's necessary. 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 29 Super User Posted January 29 Lowe 1652MT Marine grade plywood decking with aluminum L-bracket framing and SS screws/bolts. Outdoor carpeting. Carpeted floors and bow with storage access. 24V TM at bow plus depthfinder. Dual battery charger. 9.9 tiller engine. Dual graphs at helm. Slotted tackle storage with 12V plug serves as deck extension. Control panel for lights, bilge, livewell w/recirc. 7 Quote

GRiver Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Tinboats.net I did a 12/36 with the help from everyone on there. I’ve have a 15/48 polar kraft mod-V , not a Jon style, but still a tin boat. 1 Quote
Johnbt Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I took a new 2012 Grizzly 1648, added a hinged deck on the back supported by 2"x2" aluminum angle I cut with an angle grinder, some glued down indoor/outdoor carpet, two screwed down battery boxes for the Maxxum 70. I have a 9.9 for reservoirs, but usually use an Endura Max 55 for all the small lakes we fish. The Endura Max and the fish finder are run off a third battery by the transom. The Polar Kraft in the background is my buddy's antique 1648. All of his homemade decking is framed with aluminum and decked in plywood. 4 Quote
Motoboss Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Izzat like a 64(ish) Galaxy convertible in the background?!! Quote
Johnbt Posted January 30 Posted January 30 "Izzat like a 64(ish) Galaxy convertible in the background?!!" It's a 1964 Olds Jetstar 88 2-door convertible with a 330ci V8/245 hp. It's big and slow. It was an Olds for poor people. 1 1 Quote
