Hello all, I’m looking for suggestions on a rod I can use for crankbaits and finesse swimbaits for the most part, as my knowledge on rod powers and actions is not the greatest. And with my budget, I would not like to exceed $150. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Funny timing.  Tackle warehouse has a falcon expert Mansfield in their clearance/used section. 7’, medium power.  It’s the rod you are looking for and on sale for $150 (from $200). Not sure if the extra 20% email promo code works on top. I placed my tw stock up order tonight and was sorely tempted to throw it in my cart.

I'd recomend looking into the bass x line up from st. Croix. I have the 6'10" ml from there spinning line up and I like it so much I'm considering getting a casting rod aswell. There casting rods range from 125-160 as standard depending on the model

I use the composite cranker in the Flacon Lowrider series.  It retails for around $130.  Very parabolic (or some might call it slower action) which is great for treble hook baits.  However, the graphite rod is likely lighter, and more versatile.  And, for an extra $20, the Expert is a steal.

Although I have yet to check them out the St Croix black bass has a ton of options.

Where?? Not seeing it, only seeing $199.99

And to the OP, Falcon and Dobyns. No need to look elsewhere. All of the Falcons from the Bucoo series and up are fantastic. I have the Bucoo, Lowrider, and Cara. Lowrider is the best bang for the buck there is. May add an Expert if the guy I'm replying to can lead me to that supposed sale

For Dobyns, stick with the Sierra and up. American Legacy Fishing has all Dobyns rods for 25% off right now with DOBYNS25 code. I'd hit that up for sure. The Fury series is mediocre at best. At the same $129.99 price point, I'd opt for the Falcon Lowrider 24/7/365.

If you can find a Major Craft NAC-T681M/SI Iovino Slash-It 6’8” MMF rod is what I use with SLX 70MGL reel for my utility rod 1/4 to 1/2 lures.

before the webpage update it was more apparent with a link on the left. Now you have to go to clearance items and then at the bottom there is ‘used’. It’s not a voluminous as alf but the deals are good and it’s a wider range.
