I know i made a post awhile ago about house brand lures.

And Academy came out on top from what the people said, but theres been a few lures from BPS along with Scheels ive tried that have been very good to me.

I know about the spring classic for BPS, but does anyone know when Academy and Scheels do their sales where most of the house brand stuff is discounted? Rods, reels, tackle, lures, baits, clothing, etc....

I really want to stock up this year on cheap lures so i can finally go to war with pickerel!

I shop at Academy a lot, but if they do a "spring classic" type of sale like BPS I've never noticed it. They have something on sale almost all the time though. You can sign up for email notifications with them like most places to get some notice on sales.

I’ve been to 2 local Academy Sports in last couple weeks as well as one about 2.5 hrs south of where I live. They don’t have an official spring sale going on, but all 3 had a section with fishing stuff on clearance.

I know theyve got sales going on all the time, this was different. Not exactly like the Spring Classic, but similar.

All of their Magellan fishing gear (clothing which i love) was on sale, their house brand rods, reels and baits/lures too.

I just cant remember if it was in the winter, spring, or summer. Wasnt sure if it was a one time thing or happened regularly.

Sorry you’re not in close proximity to an Academy. They do have good sales occasionally. I feel over last 5-10 yrs the sales are less frequent & not as good as they used to be. While back it was common to walk into one and stuff would be majorly discounted. And there were always ads with fishing stuff on sale.

And seems the fishing depts have slowly downsized, at least at the ones in my area.  That being said, Academy’s everyday prices are usually better than Bass Pro & other big box outdoors stores.

We have an Academy here in Springfield,But the shelves are empty most of the time. They really struggle with inventory. I shop there if they have what I need But it’s a crapshoot
