lunkerboss923 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Title says it all. Just got it. It's probably going to be used as 1/2oz jig, heavier texas rigs, and light froggin rod. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted January 21 Super User Posted January 21 As someone who is considering a FMJ......I'd use a JDM Zillion HD TW. Perfect reel for that rod imho. 3 Quote

softwateronly Posted January 21 Posted January 21 @lunkerboss923 Not sure if you own other P5's, but their trigger made my reel selection more important and different than other sticks because of the way I palm the reel. In general, I'm in the jdm met, bantam, zillion, and zillion hd as the worthy choices for quality and value. scott Quote
lunkerboss923 Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 I have a Daiwa Zillion SV TW 7:1. Will that work? I also have a Zillion HD she is on my Fury 795SB. Is the SV TW strong enough for light froggin? Quote

So much backbone with that easy to cast softer tip. I use it for my 1/2 jigs -plus trailer and it’s fun to set the hook. I feel like YouTube is watching! I enjoy that armored tank feel of the Bantam on that rod. the same combo throws a weightless Deps poop bait like no other. 16lb flouro mostly but I can go down to 14. Quote
