Hey guys (Glenn), I hope it's ok for me to post this here in the tackle thread since this is mainly where I've hung out since becoming part of this great community.

I contemplated if I should even do this or not, but this place has become like my second family, and I love you all so much. A day doesn't go by where I don't come on here multiple times.

Anyways, I found out the other day that I have an advanced form of cancer and that it's incurable. My mind is all over the place right now. One moment I'm at peace with it, then next moment I'm a wreck and cannot believe it. I'm not really even sad for myself...more so for my friends and family who have to go through this now and when I'm gone.

I don't know yet how much time I have left. They wanna do further testing for that, and to see if it pays to try treatment to prolong it or not. The thought of never fishing again, or my days on the water being numbered, absolutely tears me apart. It's been my passion like no other.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that with you all, my Bass Resource Family. Hopefully I'll be around for a bit yet, so this isn't a goodbye as of now.

I love you all.

I have no words, but you will be in my thoughts.

I struggle with words after reading such a terrible thing happening to such a wonderful person.

We love you too brother!!!!!    Modern medicine can create miracles, and so can a higher power, whomever that might be for you.

Fight this thing to the death, never give up!   We're always going to be here for you, and so will the rest of your family and friends.   You'll never be alone going through this fight!

Saying a prayer for you and your family now and will continue to do so.

Can't imagine the stress and daily thoughts going through your head right now.

I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.  I think you should at least consider treatment for it, if it at all possible.

Can I ask what type of cancer it is?  You don't have to answer that if you don't want to.

It's hard to know what to say.

To find the right words, if they even exist.

Please know that we genuinely care.

The road ahead of you looks scary,

but I wanted to let you know

that we are here for you and your family

every step of the way.

Hope things get easier.

A-Jay

Having lived through this with my son I can tell you go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, nearest top hospital for you.

You get 1 chance and remember you have the right to choose any trials now.

Everyday is precious make the best of them with your family.
Your BR family will be here and pray for you and your family🙏🏻.

Dang. My words suck at happy topics;   Now?  They don’t exist.

I wish you the best my bud. Love you right back my friend.

Prayin for you and yours @NorthernBasser! Reach out anytime if you need anything . Our family has a genetic mutation of cells that prevents them from fighting cancer, it runs rampant thru us. My brother is a participant in a big study that UPenn is undertaking, it seemed to help him know that he was potentially helping future patients while fighting cancer himself. We are here for ya bud , one way or another. If nothing else, just to talk tackle. 🙏 ❤️

Galen (thanks for telling us your name!) - we love you too.  I'm heartbroken for you.

This isn't fair - I am bad at words sometimes.

Stay strong and spend as much time with the ones you love doing what you love as humanly possible.

So sorry to hear this for you.  I can only hope for you that the diagnosis is wrong, the situation not as dire and possibly a cure.  Know that others have you in their thoughts.  Happiness is healing, don’t give up on what makes you happy!

Thank you all for the kind words. It brings tears to my eyes reading all your replies.

BTW, my name isn't Glenn. I was referring to the big dog here, asking if it were ok for me to post this in this forum. ;)
