Hi gents,

from my time in the uk I have a landing net which is a 5’ pole/handle with a threaded insert for interchangeable heads. It’s a great net for bank fishing high banks like I used to in the UK.  When I was fishing the trout lakes with long fly rods it was perfect to reach out without getting tight down to the water or high sticking the rod. Storage aside, it would be a great net for in a boat for the same purposes. Except, it’s a fine mesh nylon net which plays heck with most all hooks. When I was using a single barbless it was no problem. A triple treble hook would be madness. I’m considering finding a rubber net like my yak attack net but can’t find replaceable head nets here in the US.  Anyone know of anywhere that sells something like these?  The brass in the picture is male threaded and roughly 1/2x20 but I’d have to confirm that. I don’t think I can replace the bag on this one very easily though might consider that if I can’t find a spare head.

thanks

rick

Contact the source in the UK and purchase a replacement net head.

The thread maybe metric.

Another option is buy a new net.

Check out EGO. They have bags, heads and handles. Altho you'd have to macgyver the connection to your handle if you got a head from them. I'd like to imagine they designed yours so the bag could be replaced..

they don’t offer rubber bags for these in the uk, nor empty hoops.

for the cost of an ego head I’d just get the full net and not mcgyver it. They are great nets and what I’d buy if I were buying a new net.

Rubber nets high water resistance. Knot less nets that don’t tangle hooks are what you want.
