I have 1/2 dozen reels spooled with power pro and I like it. It's the best line there is. That's my opinion.

Alpster, no offense to you because I too have seen it work, however.........I HATE POWER PRO AND ALL THINGS POWER PROISH!!!   Ahhhhhh I feel better.  This topic was up not too long ago. I had a similar response and it makes me feel good when I can let it out.  Like I said I have seen it work but I have seen it not work alot more.  I got it when I fished some tourneys back home and I couldnt keep a good one on for nuttin.  Couldnt keep anyting on actually.  I accidently hit my flipping switch one time and casted!  My lure went to the other side of the lake.  That was with 25lb test.

I would not buy it.  Buy some beer instead, keep the line you got.

I did what you wanted to do.  I put some Power Pro braided line (30lb test) on my Quantum Energy PT which is mounted on a Berkly Med/Hvy 7' rod.  I love it.

PowerPro does not have a lot of shock strength because it does not stretch. When you hit

your flippin' switch your lure went from a high rate of speed to a dead stop in about a second.

That is what caused the line to break, not because the line is junk.

When you set the hook on a fish, your body and your rod absorb a lot of the shock. That is why

the line doesn't break on fish.

In a nutshell, PowerPro is Awesome!!! I have it on almost every reel I own.

Ps: Unless it is a new product line that I am not aware of, PowerPro doesn't even make

    25 lb test. They have 20, 30, 40, etc.

I love power pro line...I flip and pitch with it... Great for throwing spinerbaits

I even use it on some spinning gear when I fish stained water lakes..

I have landed some monster pike using this stuff...

Best knot I found is a Polamar...

I also use power pro and it never failed me. I'm running out power pro so i startet using tuff line (this is what i have available where i live) and seems almost identical!

Power Pro has been awesome line for me, especially in the 50lb test.  I never have had issue, other than the 20lb tieing into a spool on a spinning reel.  This was easily fixed with a little bit of mono backing on the next refill.

I like it alot. Its stiff at first but, once you break it in, its really good.

Totally agree.

I do use a lot of power pro, as well as some other braids (mainly due to the fact that powerpro is not available at stores here). Never had any knot failures with it, nor accidental breakage. And, once you use it a couple of times, the line becomes very manageable. By far best braid I have used.

All my reels have power pro. I've been using it since it came out and now I won't use anything else. My accurist has 15lb power pro and I love it. Give it a try and you will be happy.

I understand what happened, but what I want everyone to realize is that under alot of circumstances for me anyway it just kept breaking.  It very well could have been that i got a bad spool.ß

imho powerpro is a good braid but sufix is way better.

Like he said.

I used PP for years w/o any problems. In 25 lbs???????....most be new b/c I've never heard of it.

As mentioned before I prefer sufix (ties better knots) but theres nothing wrong with power pro.

That is why I like this site so much. You can get a lot of info in here along with opinions that help you make decisions on your next purchase. Personally, I do not like braid. I use mono. I have tried to like braid but, just do not like the feel of it or any characteristics that it has. Mono for me, period. You really have to buy some to make this decision. Its a personal preference thing. A lot of these guys swear PP so, I would say it is good stuff if you want to try braid. Its just not for me.
