I Get upset when people pull up next to me or cut me off so I get it but I'd never even get close to this level. I usually just move but I guess with the elaborate ice fishing setups it's hard to do.

I come across stuff all the time I wish I could share with you guys so screen shot will have to do.

Nope, can't understand a firearm becoming a thought while fishing just because someone gets too close. That's more animal than human, like a wolf bearing teeth because another gets too close to its kill. Lock him up.

Yeah, ain’t worth pulling a gun on someone that’s being a chump. You want to be a man you start ripping lips in front of them. I guess I am just used to everyone fishing ontop of me to care.

No excuse to act that way. Always plenty of other spots, and if it’s a spot I’m really familiar with or confident in, I love catching them left and right while they figure it out

I literally have had ten or so boats troll around my boat when they saw me catching fish after fish after fish.

I have 1 rule with a gun shoot to kill.

It shouldn’t be used as a warning device.

Ya, but then you gotta dress them out and long-pig isn't all THAT tasty. 🤪

Not that surprising in Racine.  Really sketchy area.

People set up close to each all the time here when ice fishing.  State law says you have to maintain a distance of 10 feet.  That's it.

icast has released a new product specifically designed for situations like this.  Its called the Racine County Ice Fishing Space Maker Dueling Pistol Series. 😂

Been like that on public boat ramps for awhile now.. I guess it’s found its way from liquid to ice. Go figure.

Never mind about road rage. Or Walmart rage 🤣

Its worse on the ice.  At least here it is because there's way more people out there than during open water boating season.

The story posted is completely ridiculous though.  All that frozen water and the guy sets up 10 yards from the only person out there?  Talk about disrespect.

Yeah I've always heard the Ice fisherman are the most hot headed out of all anglers.   Over the years I've heard a bunch of stories about brawls and confrontations on the ice.

Turns out Grumpy Old Men was a documentary.

In my younger days, I ran with a rougher crowd and many times found ourselves in “testy” confrontations.  Nothing to do with fishing….I had one buddy who was smaller in stature and always seemed to be a lead instigator.  Many of our encounters were at nightclubs and bars and we usually ended up outside and squared off.  Sometimes we walked away none the worse for wear and other times we crawled away to lick our wounds.  One night back at my buddies apartment after a premo butt whipping, I noticed he pulled a handgun out of an ankle holster.  I had never seen that and I asked how long he had carried and he told me he has always.  So I asked him all the times we got our hind ends handed to us why he never used it to stop the punishment.  His reply was….We were never in a situation where we risked losing our lives and he had a strict rule that if he pulled it, he was going to use it.  Made an impact on me.  Thankfully I grew out of that stage with relatively few scars but a lot of life lessons.

In agreement with everyone here. I get the anger when you have the whole lake open and someone plops down right beside you...however the only time a gun should be pulled is when a life needs protecting. This wasn't even close to justifiable and brandishing for intimidation is worse than if he just tried to fight the guy.

I completely understand someone setting up 30ft from me even if I'm not the only one out there and it's a good location.  It isn't his fault I got out there before him. Then again I would never pull a gun on a guy because it was 'my spot' and I was late getting there.

One of the first rules I was taught about firearms: Don't point a gun at anything you don't intend to shoot. That's my mind set and if some idiot points a gun at me, even if he never intended to shoot me, The lesson he will learn will be short lived.

Reminds me of ocean striper fishing, boat or shore.
