Guest avid Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I think the Shimano Symetre is the best $80.00 reel out there. I have a small 750 and it is smooth and light as a feather. Quote

Shadcranker Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Shimano Symetre is the best reel out there for the $. I have 3 Stradics, and I actually like these better. All I'm buying from now on. Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Back in the last century, most spinning reels had really bad rotor wobble (do to trigger assemblies, over sized line rollers, etc.). Then Shimano® did something unheard of (Dyno Balancing). Now most all of the reel manufacturers make all of their spinning reels with some kind of off-setting balance system on the rotors. The key to finding a spinning reel with minimal wobble, would be to find one that the manufacturer hasn't gone off the deep end with the crank handle. Most spinning reels in the larger models, have large crank circumferences that tend to cause the wobble now. Just my .02¢ Tight Lines All!! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 9, 2007 Super User Posted February 9, 2007 The Shimano Symetre is a great reel for $80, but the Stradic ($120) is what I consider the "Best Value" in the Shimano line-up. Both of these reels have built a reputation for quality and durability. Smooth, silent and strong are the concepts that define Shimano fishing reels. You will not be disappointed. 8-) Quote
