Trying to save money these days for a few hardbaits that I'm not picky with hooks. Anybody have good experience with a specific model of super cheap standard gauge round bend hooks? Like generic ones on eBay. That cheap.

the hook is the part that actually connects you to the fish.  the last thing I'm doing is scrimping on the hooks.  gamakatsu round bend megic eye for me.

My .02, you should be savimg for better hooks rather than getting more baits. That said, you can probably my find some no name hooks on TEMU.  Remember how much you paid for them when they break/bend easily

Are you replacing hooks on hard baits? Probably need no. 4's & 6's, I'm guessing?

The hooks you seek absolutely do exist. These days, there's a pretty big subset of what I'll call "value fisherman". These guys love fishing great gear but their budget doesn't allow high dollar fishing tackle. And so they scour the internet for the best quality/value.

I usually start by browsing Amazon (or other value retailer). I'll find one with high ratings. And then I'll investigate the brand OUTSIDE of the retailer reviews. You'll usually see the good ones pop up often in threads on discussion boards, clubs, Reddit, YouTube, etc

I've found a couple of lures and even a rod this way. Excellent purchases, BTW.

I have no doubt you'll find some recommended hooks this way.

These are the types of videos, for example (this one is old)

I bought some of those generic trebles on eBay. They look like they were welded by a toddler. Mustad and VMC both offer quality hooks for not much money.

Appreciate the direct answer/solution to the question. I use high-end everything, including tons of high-end hooks. But for a specific couple baits I want cheap bulk hooks that will suffice. Thank you the direct answer. Appreciate it.

Just get a hook sharpener and you can catch fish with just about any hook that's not rusting.  Nice hooks and cheap hooks all get dull of they aren't from the factory.  Hook sharpener.  👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Make a post in marketplace. I’m sure a few of guys here have a large inventory of “take off” factory hooks that have never seen the water.

If I'm looking for 'cheap hooks' - VMC bulk packs are my first, last and only stop.

look online for BKK hooks. China domestic brand but have been making premium hooks for years. They used to be super cheap when I started ordering them in bulk from China but I notice now they are considered premium and are the most expensive hooks at Dicks etc. 8 bucks a pack and selling a kit of hooks for triple digits.  Also being used on the most expensive lures it seems.

You can still find treble hooks to your house in 2 weeks inexpensive and they are plenty good and you can buy in small quantity. You can also find deals on other solid brands from the lure making companies like lurepartsonline etc.   Daichi are still fairly inexpensive I believe.
