Totally agree with Pat, especially about the night aspect.

 

I will saturate honey holes at night with multiple baits and casting angles.   It certainly works at night, but like Pat says it's been my own experience that during the day if they don't bite right away, they likely aren't going to bite.

I'm usually wading. I will pick a part too much at times still. I've gotten better at covering water (what I can cover on foot), but I can still get caught up if I know there's good cover or rocky bottom. I'm probably a 2.5-3 on staying in a spot. I'd like to work it more to a 5 this coming year. I want to fish fast, but not in a hurry if that makes sense.

That's one of those game time decisions.

 

Body of water, time of year, current lake conditions, current weather patterns, moon phase, water temperatures, ect. 

 

I can be a 0 at sunrise & a 10 by sunset!

Changes day to day for me, depends on what head space I'm in ... some days I'm more relaxed (read not distracted) and will stay, other days I'm a bit more anxious (read distracted) and will move

I hadn't really thought about it personally but, last year, when my son came to fish with me in Florida, I took him to one of my "hot spots" in the pads. After about an hour without a fish he finally said "Dad, can we move a bit. I have named every lily pad in this area.

I've been fishing the same waters most all my life so I don't need to spend much time exploring. We hit the water, try spot A,B,C with lure 1,2,3 and once we find the type of places the fish are at we hit more places just like it.

 On the days this doesn't work we'll keep moving.

 Generally speaking 

LM- we'll spend more time moving, like along a weed bed, because LM tend to hunker down more.

SM- we'll hit a point or rock pile and stay for a while because Smallies tend to move around more and we'll wait for them to come to us.

Interesting. I've always skittered for both smallies and largies, but I'm thinking you might have the superior approach.

It really depends on the time of year for me. Most times though I’d say I’m about a 2-3 on the movement scale. Fishing the river flow dictates a lot of what I do. I can very well be on a big school if smallies and not be throwing the right bait. Sometimes I will even leave an area and come back to let it cool down. The fish reset and I can sometimes bang them out again. There are so many times where I haven’t caught a fish in awhile and next thing I know I am banging them.

That must be cool, but I wouldn't know because I never stick long enough to have it happen to me.

I'm probably a 5.  It depends on when and where I'm fishing.  As a rule of thumb, if I catch a bass then I make about 5 or 6 more casts into the area.  If I don't get anymore bites then I leave.

I stay more now than I used to.  I do love the Clash though.

It’s river fishing. They pile into areas. There is only so much fishable water.

I’m a 1. I bank fish, and the number of easily accessible spots in my area are limited. So I decide where I’m going for that day, set up shop, and start the hunt. 
 

Admittedly, I’m a 1 when not fishing, so for me it’s not a problem.
