Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 5, 2007 Super User Posted February 5, 2007 Does anyone own any of the Airrus rods ? How is their quality ? What do you like or dis-like about them ? Quote
Banor Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I own / have owned 9 Airrus rods (2 are swimming with the fish). These rods are very sensitive, very affordable and the owner is the guy you order from. Personable service and a great guy who backs his work with a warranty and genuine interest in pleasing his customers. I'm not a rep or pro staffer or anything (would like to be) so you can take this as one angler's experienced opinion. I have used all of these rods for an entire season and have not had a single malfunction or broken part at all. (if you dont count my wife rolling the Jeep window up and snapping the tip) I only have two problems with Airrus rods. First is that Ken has a hard time keeping the popular size/power/action in the Warehouse!! They sell like hotcakes. Second, there isnt as much range of power/action combinations as I would for my personal specialization. Other than that I give them 2 thumbs up. B Quote
reelon Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I have an airrus Co-matrix, and for the money you get a really good rod. I like the service that you get from Ken and just the way that the rod feels. Honestly I have not found something to dislike them. Quote

I have an Ultra XL and a Co-Matirx and I have been bitten the hell out of them for 2 years fishing heavy cover most of the time, they stand the heat, light, sensitive, confortable and pretty. I broke one of the guides in my Ultra XL ( probably my fault ), 5 days later I have a brand new one at my front door, absolutely no charge......this is a company that care for their customers, needless to say I have a Puls-Ar pre-ordered. Crabcakes Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I have never owned one but I have never heard of a purchaser who has a single bad thing to say about them. Everyone is well pleased with both the rod and customer service. One of my buddies is sponsored by them and the owner is a real stand up guy. he'll even personally answer your emails. I look to buy one next time I need a new rod. Quote
R Tilson Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Without a doubt a great rod. All my pitching / flipping rods are 7'-6" Ultra XL Hvy and XHvy models. Very stiff for making long pitches and hauling out big fish yet sensitive enough to feel the fish breeth on your bait. 7'-0" Co-Matrix Hvy for frogs (castability) and 7'-0" XHvy for Stickbaits. I've started playing around with the spinning rods this year (Ultra XL). Been testing the 7'-6" & 7'-0" Med Hvy with finessee jigs and like the sensitivity as well as the action. Can't say enough about Ken. Stand up guy that holds to his word. Quote
