Does anyone know what the walking bait below is? I ask because it's my best walking bait and I only have one. If a pickerel were to take it, I'd like to buy another. It's much more effective than my other walking baits.

13 fishing dual pitch 108 maybe? The gill detail and ewg hooks look like a match

That's it! The size is right. The look is right. And it comes in gold and black. I'm going to order another right now before I forget what it is. Thanks!

@webertime: That's a pretty cool lure you suggested. Love those prism finishes. I caught hundreds of bass on a flashy popper in 2024. I might order your suggestion too.

That color is called golden retriever, and stock up I think rapala is nuking all the 13 fishing baits. I'll also toss out a rec for my favorite the duo realis pencil series.

@Peacedivision: I'm doubly grateful to you because they're on clearance, so I bought five in various colors and both sizes before they're gone forever. I've tried a couple other walking lures, but bass in Maine really prefer Fishing 13 Dual Pitch. Of course, YMMV.

Why do you like the Realis pencil series?

P. S. - I just bought a 4.5" Golden Retriever off Ebay too. TW only had the shorter Golden Retriever and I've been using the big one. The bass in my avatar was caught on the big one.

I betcha the shorter one gonna work better 😏😏😏

They make a really good lipless crankbait also.  Really actually all the 13 fishing hard baits were so good.  Hope Rapala keeps them rolling somehow.

Hmmm. We'll see. So far, Maine bass haven't shied away from my bigger lures and I like them bigger because I can cast them farther, thus increasing my stealth. However, I'm already pretty stealthy. I remember one time sitting in some weeds and bumping my canoe and seeing swirls of fleeing bass all around me, some within two feet of my boat, so they didn't know I was there or if they did, they didn't care...until I made that sharp sound.

110 and 130

I have some of the smaller ones, 85s and 100s.  Thinking about grabbing a 110 or 130 for stripers but I don't think they're through wired and the occasional big blue will do some damage.  They would do fine for smaller bass, but the I have my doubts about them with 20lb+ bass in heavy water.

I know they used to make 65s and they would be blast on light tackle, but they aren't easy to find.

Got striper up to about 6lbs this year on the 110 and 130, no issues but haven't hooked into a DD yet. 65s are still available, hookup tackle has them. I have a couple and got some blowups this year but no fish connected.

If you have an Ollie’s, check that out. I bought a few 13 Fishing hard baits this past weekend in Orlando.

Yeah, the hookup is the only place i know that ever carries them.  They must have gotten more in, because they didnt have any midnight black or Ivory Halo a couple months ago.  Sucks all the duo products went up 3$, thats a big difference when youre buying a half dozen of them.  I bought one of the new Realis USA Raz JBs.  It doesnt seem bad for 10$ but the quality isnt like the other 1s IMO.  When the water thaws ill see how it runs.

Some of my new lures arrived. Since it looks like this lure is being discontinued, I bought a bunch, a lifetime supply. It really works for me. I went from catching NO FISH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE on a walking bait to many four to six-pounders with this lure. I love the black one on the far right. You can't see it, but it has a fluorescent smudge above its eyeballs so that I can see it more easily in the dark and fog. Watch out bass, I'll be a walkin' your way!:

If you haven't added a Lucky Craft Sammy 85 to your arsenal, you might want to consider it. Looks kinda similar. What makes the Sammy stand out is that it feels like it nearly walks in place. Great for keeping a walking bait in the strike zone for a longer period of time.

I think I own a Sammy or two. That name is familiar. I know I failed to catch bass on several of my various walking baits until I stuck with the Dual Pitch. Maybe I just stumbled on a cadence that works with this lure.

IMO the Sammy is the easiest walking bait to walk.  I found one in a tree and used it for 3 years with much success.  Mine was Blue and chrome.

I have a walking bait that's black with yellow stripes. I think it's a Sammy. I'll have to start using it.
