Anyone out there have experience with converting 100 to 200 size baitcasters to BFS reels? I have 4 BPS Pro Qualifier's (200's I believe) and 2 Piscifun (100) Torrent 2 baitcaster reels. Are conversions possible with any of these?

BFS aftermarket shallow spools are mainly for Daiwa reels, a few for shimano, and maybe a little for Lews.

BPS reels even though made by Doyo would be a no for that conversion, same with Piscifun.

Piscifun and other Amazon reels are very small brands, not many people are making aftermarket parts for them that i know of.

Your best bet is to try and get a real BFS reel or something like a Tatula 100 with an aftermarket spool, although that would probably cost up to $150 just to have a base to build off of.

Or try a cheap Kast King or Piscifun BFS reel.

Even if you could find them for those reels, aftermarket spools are expensive. Just pony up and buy a BFS reel by either Daiwa or Shimano, if money is an issue buy a Kast king BFS, they’re running like 119$ I believe with 20% off online.

Thanks. I kind of figured that was the case.

You might want to just sell off one or 2 of those reels and just purchase a bfs reel as has been mentioned. You can currently log into Ali Express and purchase a Kastking Zephyr or Soloking bfs reel for under $40.00 although they seem to have line management issues or for under $65.00 you can get a Tsurinoya Dark Wolf which I believe gets some favorable reviews even on this site. In the spirit of being transparent I’m by zero means a bfs guy although I’ve been trying with a Piscifun Saex Elite bait cast reel that came with both a standard and shallow (bfs) style spool along with a shallow spool Shimano Miravel spinning reel and I’m planning on grabbing a Tatula XT bfs rod this season. I will lastly mention my friend and bass resource member @bulldog1935 had shared a Gomexus 🤔 bfs spool that will fit a Daiwa Tatula 80 reel that you might find used (reel that is), or fairly priced on any of the Japanese domestic fishing sites or if you’re not comfortable with purchasing over seas you can buy the Tatula 80 at IMG_4047.png.6ad6102f02e7fdeda52dacfa0489a4fc.pngIMG_4045.png.b123bb2ab9c64c05b6102ba0dd4326b1.pngBass Pro during the spring sale and trade in one of your Piscifun reels and get $40.00 off the Daiwa I believe as that was what they were offering last year.

Do yourself a favor and just pick up the ARK BFS reel. You'd need to spend hard on either a higher end Shimano or Daiwa purpose-built BFS reel to equal it. You'd need to jump up to an Alde BFS to surpass its performance. It spanks the Curado BFS, which is something I wish I'd known before grabbing the SLX BFS which is essentially the same reel for the JDM market.

WhenI first got into bfs, I got the Gomexus spool for my tat 80 (already had the reel)

Filled it with 10 lb braid, medium light rod, 1/8 Oz rattletrap. First cast took all the line, all of it!! Lol!!

Some people report that the inductor cups are crooked and they make more noise, but they’re fast spools.

I have the KK Zephyr BFS and the Kestrel BFS. They both cast 1/4 oz or less better than my Curado BFS ever dreamed of with 6 lb line. If I wanted a third BFS reel, I'd get another Kestrel BFS in a heartbeat. They were less than $100 a week a go direct from KK. No telling about the durability, especially with the Kestrel BFS because it's not been out that long. I have the Kestrel BFS on a Phenix Classic BFS rod and the combo weighs 8.5 oz for the rod and reel.
