Mojo Bass Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Well today was a special day for me…. My Christmas present to myself from myself arrived. Now I know this is now considered an “older” reel it’s going on 6 years old now, but I managed to buy myself a new unused Scorpion mgl 150. I know it’s not the fanciest reel or this or that…… But it is a reel I’ve wanted for quite some time and now I have it so I’m very happy about this and now I’m sharing this will everyone here…… What I want to know from everyone else here is….. Did you get anything exciting or that you wanted for Christmas fishing wise big or small…… Please share if you did. Thanks 15 Quote
Loomis13 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 When I was younger I always read about the scorpion and dreamed about getting one. I never did buy one. I hope it lives up to the expectations for you! Also crazy you found a NIB. That color is awesome. I am waiting on my reel to be off of back order. A Shimano Twin Power 2500. 1 Quote
GrumpyOlPhartte Posted January 1 Posted January 1 @Mojo Bass: I just rambled on in another topic about an experience I had that gave me the same feeling of satisfaction from acquiring a couple of inexpensive rods. Great feeling, isn’t it? 1 Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted January 1 Super User Posted January 1 Beautiful reel. Congratulations. I only got baits for Christmas this year. Splurged and bought a few Megabass Vision 110s and 110 +1 Jrs, a few plastics, and X9 braid in 3 different sizes. I did purchase 2 new reels earlier this year. The Salamandura is close to that color as is my old Scorpion 1001 4x4 SVS. I prefer red over silver any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Mostly I upgraded my DSLR camera body and kit lenses. 2 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted January 1 Super User Posted January 1 I have two. You’ll love it. Now my cataract surgeries are done I bought myself regular polarized sunglasses. One pair for driving and a pair for fishing. 👍👍 3 Quote

Super User GreenPig Posted January 1 Super User Posted January 1 Yes. I actually got my Christmas, early in November. A Shimano Calcutta Conquest MD 300 XGLH and a MB Orochi XX Leviathan. That Scorpion looks pretty fancy to me. 6 Quote
Alex from GA Posted January 1 Posted January 1 The only fishing equipment I got was 4 packs of worms from my grandson. We did get a 2010 Madza CX9 from our son when they bought a new one. 2 Quote

Arguably the best baitcaster ever produced. My buddy is a steelhead guide and begged me to sell him mine ten years ago. He still fishes them. 1 Quote
Motoboss Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Super tuned Bantam “greenies” are all I use. Actually the Wife got me a Lews BB1 Pro for Christmas and returned it as it was very sticky, noisy and the spool had a bad wobble. Hence the reason for the “new” Curado cu201 purchase. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted January 2 Super User Posted January 2 Installed my present from the wife. Trick Step for the trailer. I guess she really doesn’t want to cash in the insurance check.😉😂 2 2 Quote
