whichever has a better hook.

I have never used an Apex spoon.  I assume they are stamped out of brass like the good ol’ Daredevles are.

Steel spoons don’t have quite the right action IMHO.  And they don’t cast as well (less sectional density).  I ounce Daredevles can be cast about 5 miles with a slight tailwind.

Get some of each and see what you and the pike like best.

Jason Lucas in his book Lucas on Bass discusses a time period when Eppinger sales fell off dramatically, the red/white spoon the most popular color.

It turns out Eppinger had to change paint suppliers, the paint wasn’t catching fish like the original. Eppinger studied the paint under Infra red light and the new suppliers paint looked very different.

Eppinger changed back to the original paint supplier and sales returned quickly.

Buy Eppinger spoons specially the 2/5 oz Imp for bass.

I’ve still got a box full of Eppinger spoons I bought many years ago when I was doing fly-in trips. For pike, the 5 of diamonds was always my favorite, but the hooks on mine have all been replaced.
