Favorite jig trailers?

There are tons of different trailers on the market. So for the purpose of simplification you need only two. 

 

Action: these are the ones that have appendages that flap,swim, and cause commotion in the water. These are what you use in warm water aggressive bite.

 

Subtle: cooler water, non-aggressive bites when a Subtle presentation works best. The trailers in this category are plastic chunks or pork.

 

If you have no idea what to start with I recommend a Zoom Super Chunk that matches the jig color.  I have fished this trailer for over 20 years and it has worked in every situation.

Any south Florida people agree that craw style baits seem less effective than beaver style baits?

On a jig it’s pretty much a twin tail grub. I’ll add a Zoom 4” Curly Tail Worm to a spinnerbaits or buzzbait. I bite the body down to get the size I want. 
A twin tail grub is very productive on the river smallies on just a plain round or football jig.

I throw Rage bugs and Speed Craws on most jigs along with the menace and twin tail grubs. I also have a bunch of chunks in plastic instead of pork and forget the make....Strike King or Luck E strike I thing.

• Net Bait Tiny Paca Chunk for small/micro jigs.
• Strike King Twin Tail, Rage Tail Chunk, and Yamamoto Yama Craw for most applications.
• Yamamoto Flappin’ Hog and Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver for    C O L D water.

I just ordered some Congo craws by 6th sense. Haven’t tried them yet, but am waiting for them to come in.

 

aside from that, it’s usually something Rage or d-bomb/baby d-bomb. Paca chunk or slim sometimes. Just depends on what’s in my box at the time…

I've simplified everything and just use Rage Menaces for swim jigs, football jigs, and flipping jigs, and Xzone muscle back finesse craws for little finesse jigs

i’ve narrowed it down to 2 differnt craw trailers that I use on a jig.  if i want some action on the back of a jig ill use yum spine craw. if i want less action ill use a strike king rage menace.

 

I threw a chigger craw for a long time but, the spine craw has replaced it.  The spine craw can be used t-rigged.

South Florida here. Reaction innovations Beavers!!!!  Or 4-5 inch paddltails. I've only caught 1 or 2 in the last 5 years on a craw trailer. 4" pit boss, I think. I don't use any craws anymore. Gave them to my son, he catches mangrove snappers in the gulf. Go figure!

So I’m not the only one! It just seems like craws don’t work down here. I have much better luck with beavers!

YUM Christie Craw or Craw Papi are my favorites.

 

Rage Menace is a solid choice.

 

If you're not fishing a Maxscent Lil' General on your finesse jigs, you're missing out. Doesn't look like much, but it flat out gets bit.
