Super User Munkin Posted December 23, 2024 Super User Posted December 23, 2024 Looking for a source of brown bear hair for jigs. Small scraps would work I just can't find any. Figured I would ask to see if anyone hunts for them or know a taxidermist. Allen Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted December 23, 2024 Global Moderator Posted December 23, 2024 Not sure that’s legal anywhere on this side of the ocean I would look for somebody in Canada that shot a cinnamon phase black bear Quote

Super User Bird Posted December 28, 2024 Super User Posted December 28, 2024 I shot a black bear several years ago and had a fly fishing buddy swing by and took several bags of hair and a few claws. He also uses deer hair. Black and chartreuse hair jigs was a go-to bait in our river for smallmouth. Quote

Smirak Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Sorry, bug Ron Burgandy fan here and could only think of that scene… “I read somewhere that their periods attract bears. The bears can smell the menstruation.” ”Well, that's just great. You hear that, Ed? Bears. Now you're putting the whole station in jeopardy.” 1 Quote
