Curious, maybe it’s known and I just didn’t realize it. Is the Orochi XX being phased out, retired, etc? I grabbed a tour versatile for $199 and now noticed that ALF has the remaining inventory for $189. Looking at getting an EMFT now.

Pure speculation, but I would venture to say yes and that the Orochi X10 line will take over. I’m guessing we will see more and more updates to the X10 line in 2025 in terms of new models being introduced into the series.

Pure speculation on my part.

They are almost certainly are going away. The last time MB blew out inventory like this was the US Destroyers.

I’d expect a revamped line to be announced by ICAST. I don’t see the X10 line replacing them because of the actions they have and how different they’d need to be for American anglers.

Maybe we’ll see a legacy line be reborn with some p5 tech? At this point I’m not sure where MB wants to push their high end sticks.

I agree something else will fill the $300 hole in the line up

The X10 is made of recycled proprietary material. It was an experiment, I don't think they took off very well and at $399, there are better rods out there. I'd buy an IMX-Pro before X10. Megabass will probably rebrand the XX probably change color schemes, throw on a few different aesthetics. The XX is a line that they need to compete with Shimano/G Loomis. The $299 price point is very valuable and Megabass realizes that.

It’s hard to say.  I don’t think the X10 was that well received.  It is overpriced.  I could see a melding of the two lines with a small increase in retail.  I’m not holding my breath.

I watched a YouTube video and a prominent Megabass dealer commented the Orochi XX is gone and the X10 is filling that spot. No further elaboration.

I'll buy an X10  the "O" is actually the letter "O" not the number Zero.

I'll buy one and let you all know..for science.

This is dumb. Real dumb. So many popular rods in that line. I would have bought two this year.

But maybe that's part of the game. When a certain percentage of anglers already have your stuff, time to sell them new stuff. But an extra $100 for...plant fibers??

There's some good looking deals on used ones out there in the interwebs.

XX really need an upgrade, at the very least a weight reduction. However they are not worth (for me at least) $399 there are some better options at that price.

I felt like $300 was an "ok" price point. This rods to me compete with Exprides and they are much newer, lighter and cheaper.

Hopefully they release a newer version and keep the $300 price tag.

I just traded emails with a certain well known Megabass dealer you've all probably heard of and they confirmed no more xx. I guess Matt Allen will have to find a new favorite jig rod!
