I fish about an hour from home with nowhere to stop for coffee along the route. I carry a PocketRocket, canteen cup, and instant in the truck during fishing season. It’s kind of nice sitting on the tailgate making a cup before heading home. Used to carry the kit on long hikes, now it’s for fishing.

Pete's Major Dickenson

Starbucks Komodo Dragon

Cafe Bustella

Finger Lakes Italian or African

Black, no toys.  If I want to slug it fast, I may put a small ice cube in it.

I prefer a French Press as well, but for a busy morning, my Bunn maker brews a full pot in less than 5 minutes.  I highly recommend them at less than $250.  I've been eyeballing a Technivorm Moccamaster for some time.

If anyone really wants to put Tom Selleck level hair on their chest, look into brewing the Turkish way.

Why does Petes Major Dickenson get so many votes?  I tried it twice and it tasted more like brown colored breakfast blend.

I need something with more bite.  That isn't going to cut it.

I had a cup of Turkish coffee one time and I swear I can still taste it 😜

It's not as acidic as other dark roasts would be my guess.

When Costco started to taste like dirt I bought a box of Peet’s as I had read good reviews on it, my wife pointed to the Major Dickinson as it was the dark roast. Much better than the Kirkland so we stuck to it. It’s not like I tried a bunch and picked it as my favorite.

i do prefer the local roasted Sumatra for pour over, the K cups are just too easy so they win out most of the time.

Not a snob but I’m willing to,pay for a better brew.  Had REAL Kona on my honeymoon in Hawaii and it was great.  One of our early years on our annual Michigan trip, we swung into a Tim Hortons on our way to the lake and I hafta say, it was one of the best cups I’ve ever had.  Every year I would bring a case home.  Now it’s available here I. Virginia or online and it’s very good but I can’t replicate the original cup I had from the store.  I assume it’s how it’s brewed, temprature, grind size, yada, yada, but it’s still my main choice.

Counter Culture Hologram is my daily driver of roasts. Roast date is on the bag so you always know when and where it got roasted.

Fresh roasted beans is more important to me than brand. I like fresh roasted within 2 weeks of roast date. I use a burr grinder and my preferred brewing method is pour over but I normally use a pot for speed, but still grind fresh for that too.

Counter culture is definitely my favorite big brand! I've been to their cupping event, pretty cool.

Counter culture is top notch and priced reasonably, and I think under appreciated by the coffee snobs.  They had an outpost in my chgo neighborhood 12 plus years ago, when our local roasters were growing nationally and less available to the mom and pop stores.  They won me over.  Now I'm on the rotation of a 5lb bag of apollo and a 5lb bag of my choice of single origin Metric coffee.  Light roast, burr grinder, pour over, black, best taste, most caffeine combo.  Fully addicted.

I grew up on CDM Dark Roast with Chicory or French Market Dark Roast with Chicory - I guess it's the New Orleans influence from my Sicilian family that lives there and it's still what I start my day on.

Other than that, Community Dark Roast is my second choice.

I used to love Luzern (sp?) coffee with chicory, but I can't find it anymore in my area. I can't find ANY coffee with chicory around here. Guess I am going to have to order some online. I had forgotten how much I used to like it.

I’m going to have to try some chicory blend.  Never tasted it.

Cafe Du Monde gentlemen.

It's good, but not strong enough for me.  I mix it in with my strong coffee.  Google it to find where they sell it near you, or buy it on their website.

French Market Chickory is also a good chickory coffee

Again, Google it to find a retailer near you, or try their store locator on their website.

There's a Turkish restaurant in my area - belly dancing around the tables and everything. Yep, Turkish Coffee will put hair on your chest in no time...no matter who you are.

I've got a french press that I use now and then, but mainly just a $25 B&D Drip machine. I'd love to get a high-end coffee - but I'm a cheap B-Tard cause of my finances...my regular coffee of choice is Folgers Black Silk, my twice a week special is Caribou Mahogany Blend and my guilty pleasure that I 'indulge' in twice a year is Flamstead Estate Jamaican Blue Mountain....I keep a bag of whole-bean vacuum packed in the freezer, pull out enough for a couple cups, grind it, and brew it.
