Brother and I are always looking for ways to do things easier, tips, tricks, etc.

Know I have hit on something when Brother sends me this...

Been thinking about ways to load the B&H companion 5th wheel hitch and generator in to the back of my truck.

I'm 57 and can still muscle them in there...but those days are numbered. I do have an engine hoist, but it's down in the shop, and cannot take it with me.

Stumbled across this today. Genius Gump!

What's are some of your "Genius Gump" moments?

((Note: the first time I witnessed my Brother's Minn Kota Ulterra....yep, Genius-Gump moment for sure!))

I’m not going to try and compete with wives😂 but I did come up with a way to take what was supposed to be a wall mounted pressure washer and I mounted it on a 2 wheel dolly so I could move it around.

Yea, sorry about that.

Wasn't trying to derail the thread,

but it's the first thing that came to mind.

I'm just your basic knucklehead.

So that's a big win for me.

Especially since I don't really get many.

But this one time, I parked my truck in the garage,

and didn't even crash it.

@A-Jay & @MN Fisher, yep, 100% agree...wife is smartest move I ever made.

Okay, to be honest, divorcing Mrs. Daubs #1 was a super smart move, considering all the facts involved...and marrying Mrs. Daubs #2 is still tops on my list.

My old man forgot his deer rifle once not long ago when we went hunting.

I checked the truck for it before we left and put it in there without him noticing.  When we got to the hunting land, he said "oh sh** I forgot my rifle."

I smiled and said "I got your back, old man."

I had a swing & a miss myself.

Sadly I'm still paying that one.

As a super stickler for wearing a life vest when kayaking...

i.e., 100% of the time, I once forgot it after unloading the

yak and gear at the dock. This is where the wife comes in.

She drove all the way (~6 miles, so not bad) to meet me as

I waited. Love her bunches. She didn't have to do that on

her day off. Hasn't held it against me for payback, either!

In the spirit of the OP, I have been researching more use of

pulley systems with my kayak. Always looking for better

ways to do things.

I’ve made a few good choices in my life and many bad. Seems the best choices I’ve made were always the hardest

When my son was young he wanted to fly a kite on the beach. So we went and bought a kite and a roll of string.

I spooled all the string onto a 3/8” wood dowel.

On a nice breezy day we got the kite up and flew it or hours.

Came time to bring the kite in I had him wind the string onto the dowel and said to him; “wait here”

Come back and he says; “This is gonna take forever to get the kite”.

“No it won’t, watch”

I got the  cordless drill from my house and put the dowel in the chuck and reeled it in. :)

By the way: put pencils in the drill and you can sharpen a dozen in seconds :)

Actually yeah I got one. I was with a couple of people booting up a system and even though it looked like it was on, nothing was showing from the monitor. So someone calls me over. I take a look at it. The monitor is off. I tell him to push the power button on.

I know every line to Forest Gump. As does my brother. Every once in a while he or I will get a random text with a FG quote. We generally go on for about an hour!!
