Tackleholic Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 How did you do? I told myself there was very little I wanted or needed and would not yield to temptation. Six separate orders from four different sites, and I knew my self discipline had failed me again. Anyone else? 2 3 Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Sales this year were meh at most. And not just for fishing gear. However i did get a Lews LFS for $22.50 new. But all the places ive ordered from hundreds of times only had 20% off at most. Which is still considered MSRP to me. No thanks. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 3, 2024 Super User Posted December 3, 2024 For whatever reason, besides replenishing some plastics and terminal tackle, ALL of my 'need' items are eternally on the 'some restrictions apply' list. And "Clearance items", they all just need to go ahead and give that stuff away as well as throwing in 20 bucks for pain & suffering. All Except for the Pink Bubba Grip tape. You know I gotta have me some of that ! A-Jay 1 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 3, 2024 Super User Posted December 3, 2024 These one day sales are a myth anymore. 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted December 3, 2024 Super User Posted December 3, 2024 Siebert order and Tatsu on clearance at Midway. That’s it for me. Still, I’m sure I put a small dent in Mike Siebert’s supply of brown living rubber and black living rubber. 4 1 Quote
PBBrandon Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Spro had some really good sales. McSticks for 5 bucks, various cranks for 3-4. Got nearly 30 lures for 128 bucks 3 Quote
FishTax Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I bought a lot. Still buying. Took the opportunity to upgrade a lot of rods where I had worn out, entry level gear. And refilled my jig supply for the winter. Looking forward to trying several things from @Siebert Outdoors that I haven't tried before, many recommended by @Pat Brown who I think may be related to the bait monkey or at least on payroll 😎 3 2 Quote
Solution softwateronly Posted December 3, 2024 Solution Posted December 3, 2024 Not good, not good at all. Almost everyone got me for something, and always enough for free shipping. scott 3 1 Quote
ike8120 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 I didn't go too crazy got some new lipless cranks for 20%off at TW. Just enough to get the free shipping. Quote
dgkasper58 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Coundn't resist the BPS sale for uhd2 106 and lvs34... Might sell the graph from it though. 1600 in savings to start extra 210 from 10% then 10% rakuten for another 190. $2100-210-190= essentially $1700 for LVS 34 AND a UHD 2 106. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 3, 2024 Super User Posted December 3, 2024 I've done ok so far. I've picked up a new rod rack $50, list price was $120. I bought several baits at The Hook Up Tackle that were on sale 30-50% off and few of their bulk pack baits. A JDM site was having an unadvertised sale where you had to hunt for stuff on their site. I picked some 110jr +1s for $10, a bunch of wacky jigs and other terminal tackle for $2 a bag, Suline Invisible FC for $8 a spool, Megabass Deep X cranks $10 each, OSP DoLive Beavers and Craws $4 a bag, and a Megabass Pro Hoodie for $35. I also picked up some Evergreen crankbaits for $7.50 and a some KastKing 3700 boxes (Edge knockoff) for $9 each. I actually like these better than the Edge boxes. Amazon had them on a pre-black Friday sale. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted December 3, 2024 Super User Posted December 3, 2024 I bought a new on board charger. Dual Pro version to replace the dead Dual Pro that lasted for 10 years. Saved about 40 bucks. Quote
WaskaCrank12 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 My big purchase was a MB Orochi XX Ronin for $199 (usually $299) from The Hook Up Tackle....a few needed terminal/storage/fishing line items from Tackle Warehouse....and a random assortment of lures/plastics from The Hook Up Tackle 40/50% off sale - figured it's worth a try to sample some of them at 40/50% off (at least that is what the bait monkey whispered in my ear) 2 Quote
Alex from GA Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Bought a $60 blank from NFC for one of the rods I've broken this year. List is $250 but with all the sales no one ever pays full price. Quote
BTSyndrome Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Didn't spend a dime on fishing! woohoo But what did magically show up this year was: -Extar EP9 (+7 18rd mags) -Sig Romeo5 red dot -1,000 rds of 9mm -Pixel Watch 3 (plus accessories) & 3 more pair of Asics shoes. I think fishing stuff would have been cheaper. LOL Quote
Super User Spankey Posted December 4, 2024 Super User Posted December 4, 2024 I made up a fairly short list of stuff and gave it to the wife and kids a few weeks ago. A mix of hardbaits, soft plastics, lines and some terminal tackle. I'm sure something will come through. Nothing is a drop dead must have immediately anyway. Rapala had a few new pattern colors come out and one of them is gonna work out well for me, at least my plan is to make it work well. Anxious to see it in my hand. Rebel has some new matte finish craw baits out now. Want to try a few of them. Originals have been productive on the river since I was a kid. Wish I could but on a Christmas list to have better water conditions for this coming season. Hope the heat and drought conditions will be behind us. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 4, 2024 Super User Posted December 4, 2024 Nope. Instead of fishing gear we bought a new battery for the car. Quote
