For me 2025 is going to be a year for chasing trophies.  Bass, Elk, Deer.  I have no problem catching/shooting/hunting any of these species, but I am getting to the point I really want to earn some trophy size critters.  It is going to take a lot of hard work and for the stars to align, but I want that at least once in my lifetime for my favorite species I pursue.

I can relate to the deer part.  I spent 6.5 days in my stand waiting for Mr Big.  I saw 52 deer, including 16 bucks, but only one was even worth consideration and it did not present a shot.

I've taken so many small bucks to even count anymore and I have zero interest in tagging one again.  Even if it means my tag goes unfilled (which is likely).

I hear you.  I have more horns in the shop than I can count.  I am ready for the bigguns.

Go to Home Depot, buy some wallpaper, maybe some flooring, stuff like that.  Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I don’t know if I’ll have enough time.

Get out on the water - with the ulcerated sore on my ankle, launching and landing the boat was a non-starter this past year. After a bit of surgery on it last week, it's already looking much better, so fingers-crossed, I'll get Bass Trek out next year.

Also learning the EchoMap 9sv I purchased last spring, but have never gotten the transducer wet.

Beyond that, just catching some nice fish - either framed-photo worthy or freezer worthy...either would be fine for me.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. Rest up and take care of that thing. Sorry to hear that it sort of ruined your season.

@padon the susky was on fire most the year. It seemed like they were really loving fast aggressive baits where previous years it was alll about neds, tubes, that sort of thing.

yeah i missed it. i still caught fish on flukes, senkos cranks topwaters etc but the thought of a magdraft or glide just never crossed my mind.

Big plans for big fish, making every cast count. I plan to do more surf fishing, maybe one week out in the glades, one week on the surf. Kinda adds spice to the adventure doing both. At least it dose for me. Lotta water to cover in south Florida!

easy.  I am hitting some distant lakes - mainly in the hopes of catching some Smallies.  CA lake Trinity and Almanor to be exact.  this will require some added complication of sleeping in the back of my truck.

and I am fishing Mexico.  going for Mr Big.  or Mr. Many.  :D

Hopefully more time on the water. I believe gas prices will stay under control and I can venture a bit farther from home, explore some other lakes, etc. I know I am late to the party, but I plan on trying some BFS stuff this year. Also want to go the opposite direction and try some of the larger glides and swimbaits. Time will tell. I wish you all good health in 2025, so you can make your plans and dreams come true.

Bought a jetboat back in September that I am rebuilding into what I want.  Plan is to fish shallow parts of the Potomac and Susky.  Build is currently on hold because my welder broke his arm but it should still be ready by March.

Another goal is to sell a ton of tackle I will never use.

Fish more...birth of my son in March bringing our total to 2 kids really sucked any "free" time I had. Not complaining, worth it every day, just part of life.

@Munkinwhat did you buy?

17.5' River Rave with a 90/65 that I am building an aluminum console for. Swapping out the wood on the decks with aluminum as well. This will be my starter jetboat to see if I like it enough to upgrade to a River Rocket.

@Munkin I never heard of those. Is it an outboard jet without a tunnel hull? If so a river rocket is going to be 100% different in handling and well pretty much every aspect other than it has a jet and can go shallow.

My 2025 is up in the air right now.I plan to quit my job, but I need to find a new one first. I have a second interview next week and a tour of the hotels that I would be managing. If it works out, I will be near the Santee Cooper lakes.

Wherever I wind up, I’d like to fish as many Bass Nation kayak events as possible. With a new job I don’t think I will be able to fish any Bassmaster events as that requires considerable time off.

My main focus is getting out of here and finding a new job.

Are you qualified to portage a canoe? I pay in bass-catching opportunities. Lots of bass.

My plans for 2025 are not take any fishing trip for granted. Last August a broken leg ended my 2024 season a few months early and I hated not being physically able to fish. I’m so antsy to get on the water.

Yikes! So your winter began in August. That's tough.

I'm prepared to offer you a one-day contract. Let's see, $150k divided by 365....
