Anybody know what this sticker on my engine is for? At first I thought it was the prop size & pitch followed by the gearing of the lower unit, but it’s not cause my prop says 13.4 x 15p right on it.

is it like the max size & pitch that can be used?

Lower unit gear case ratio. Divide 29/14 and you get 2.07. I believe those first numbers are the number of teeth on the gears. Someone else will be able to confirm or refute.

I'm going with lower gear case designation

for Mercury Four Stroke 115hp Pro XS Gearcase Lower Unit

14 x 29

2.07:1

20" Long Shaft

It's not a prop pitch.

I knew the lower number was gear ratio, but I didn’t know what the two on top meant, but that makes sense, the tooth count of each gear.

thanks!
