Scherbacj Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Anybody know what this sticker on my engine is for? At first I thought it was the prop size & pitch followed by the gearing of the lower unit, but it’s not cause my prop says 13.4 x 15p right on it. is it like the max size & pitch that can be used? Super User Team9nine Posted November 25, 2024 Super User Posted November 25, 2024 Lower unit gear case ratio. Divide 29/14 and you get 2.07. I believe those first numbers are the number of teeth on the gears. Someone else will be able to confirm or refute. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted November 25, 2024 Super User Posted November 25, 2024 I'm going with lower gear case designation for Mercury Four Stroke 115hp Pro XS Gearcase Lower Unit 14 x 29 2.07:1 20" Long Shaft It's not a prop pitch. A-Jay 1 Quote
Scherbacj Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 I knew the lower number was gear ratio, but I didn’t know what the two on top meant, but that makes sense, the tooth count of each gear. thanks! 1 Quote
