Super User LrgmouthShad Posted November 24, 2024 Super User Posted November 24, 2024 Similar to my NC July Fishing thread, here is the winter edition. Once again, I’ll be headed to NC to be with family over the holidays. My family knows I am quite enthusiastic about fishing around Christmas and New Year’s. This year, my expectations might be a little too high. I am bringing my electronics with me and installing on a kayak that the family keeps there. In the summer, I bounced around to a lot of lakes. This winter, I plan on focusing on just a couple in vicinity of @Pat Brown. I’ll be tempted to make it out to Badin and I might make a trip, but for the most part I plan on fishing around Greensboro. Hopefully I get to see @Pat Brown, Jake, and @FishTax again. I’ll revisit this thread as it gets closer to my leave. As you can see, I am already planning a few things for the trip. Stay tuned…. 5 1 Quote
Pat Brown Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Looking forward to wetting a line with you again sir. Hopefully we can get into some really big old hogs out of some real cold water. 😎😎😎 4 Quote
LSU Fan Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Living in Greensboro and just 20 minuets from the nearest body of water. Now when the air temps drop below the mid 40* it's tough but Lake Mackintosh and the same for Randleman Lake near Level Cross are my go-to lakes close by. Although Randleman is closed this time of year Macintosh is the go-to lake this time of year with a sprinkling of Belew's Creek up near Stokesdale NC. Now the goal is to catch Bass. Maybe some time or another might run into you guys, Fish Tax and Pat Brown. At any rate a tip to what bait I've had most luck with a watermelon/blk flake Senko rigged wacky style and a natural colored watermelon1/2oz jig with a touch of orange. I've pitched these baits primarily everywhere in every lake, Macintosh, Badin, Belew's Creek, Mayo Res., Jordan Lake, and at times even Hyco just North of Roxboro, NC. 3 Quote

Would love to meet up some time! I live on Macintosh now so if you're on Guilford side I may have already seen you from a distance.. shoot me a pm next time you're in the area! Also don't over look the Greensboro city lakes right around you. They fish different than mackintosh and are slightly smaller. I like to mix it up. 1 Quote
