Super User Jar11591 Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM Super User Posted Sunday at 04:55 PM Went and scoped out a nearby lake this morning. It’s been extremely mild this month so I was hopeful. Still mostly frozen with some open water around the shorelines. Some puddles atop the ice. Today is near 70° and very windy so that should speed it further. I hope to be fishing next week. 1 Quote
WaskaCrank12 Posted Sunday at 04:56 PM Posted Sunday at 04:56 PM Friday it was 60 and sunny here - Saturday it was 18, blizzard conditions with 55 mph winds (got about 6 inches of snow) - Today (Sunday) it is 18 and sunny with 5 mph winds - although there had been some melting of the ice on the lakes (maybe small amounts of open water 3 to 6 feet from the shoreline, near water inlets/drains) there is still plenty of melting that will need to take place before the over 2 feet thick ice is off the area lakes here - although day time temps will start to rise above freezing it looks like the night time temps will be below freezing until at least early April here Quote

I haven’t checked the bigger lakes but all of the small ones and the rivers are thawed. The bigger lake around with a temp probe says 41 degrees and warming so that’s thawed out (it just needs another 18’ of depth). We are 60 and rainy now and 65 and sunny this week. Boat pickup is next weekend so I should be on the water Sunday… Expand Go catch some, but don't post the photos. Email the photos to me. Then I'll post them in the "Latest Catch" thread and make-believe that I'm catching bass. And the guys will say, "That Swamp Girl sure can cowgirl." Super User Bird Posted Sunday at 07:52 PM Super User Posted Sunday at 07:52 PM We literally sprinted into spring here. Frogs are out, wife's tulips are racing out of the ground. Local river is at 52* and lakes are climbing into the 50's. March has been a Lamb. 1 Quote

Expand That system could completely miss us, or pulverize us, depending on the track. Right now it’s supposed to go through Iowa which would clip southern MN. It could shift to the north though. Super User Swamp Girl Posted Monday at 12:07 PM Super User Posted Monday at 12:07 PM I'm starting to see the surest sign of spring in New England. The Red Cheeked Males of Maine have donned their spring plumage, i.e. shorts and t-shirts. This happens annually when the temps climb into the forties. 1 Quote

DaubsNU1 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Last two days have been in the upper 70's and low 80's here in Nebraska. Tomorrow, blizzard warning. I may get to run my snowblower for the first time this season(?!!) Then it's back to 64 degrees and sunny on Saturday. Quote
