Super User casts_by_fly Posted Tuesday at 01:28 AM Super User Posted Tuesday at 01:28 AM We got 3” of slush Saturday night which was a real bear to clear. Then the temps dropped where it froze into solid ice. We were due anywhere from 0 to 24” of snow in 2 days as recently as yesterdays forecast but now it looks right balmy. That’s ice melting weather right there. Quote

It's the wind that makes it rough. It's been howling for 20 hours and will howl for another 20. It bullies my car. 6 hours ago, A-Jay said: I have somehow gone 'Roof Blind' Snow raking is hard work. I don't blame you. My current home has a steep roof, so there's no raking. HOORAY! Quote
Rockhopper Posted Tuesday at 01:48 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:48 AM @Swamp Girl lol yes it's a lot. The highway shoulders were so tall it felt like driving in a tunnel everywhere. The snow plows were actually giant snow blowers to get the snow up and over the shoulders. 1 Quote

No real big snow events so far. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted Tuesday at 02:02 AM Super User Posted Tuesday at 02:02 AM Overnight low here is supposed to reach -20. Windchill approaching -35 degrees. But...looking out about 5 days...there are signs of relief! Nearly 40 degrees ABOVE zero by Sunday afternoon. Do I dare say it. (spring?) 1 Quote

I was in Oregon once for the biggest ice storm of my life. Everything was encased in inches of ice. That was near Mt. Hood. And I was in Buffalo at the beginning of their 7' of snowfall storm. The wall cloud was jet black. HOWEVER, I've never driven through tunnels of snow. I've only seen photos of such a scene. 1 Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Super User Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM The local near record snow fall piled on the roof, finally breached the vent/exhaust pipes for the home and water heater as well as the plumbing/septic vent pipes. None of that is a good thing. So up I went. Of course the wind chills had to be below zero just to keep it interesting. Only took a few minutes to clear them out. Hardest part was getting up & down off the roof. My powers of levitation are not what they used to be . . . btw- check yours if there's a need. You'll be glad you did. A-Jay 2 Quote

None of that is a good thing. Back in my HVAC days I had a few no heat calls (always in the middle of the night BTW) that were the result of snow covering the intake pipe. Quick easy fix, unless it were on the roof. Sorry folks you’re on your own on that one. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted 9 hours ago Super User Posted 9 hours ago Like living in a snow globe. It snow's here with the sun out ? Notes straight from the local NWS forecast desk. Our first measurable snow of the winter was on Nov. 20th, and kicked off quite the run of snow here! Out of the last 93 days, there have been EIGHTY-SIX (86) days with observed snow... including a perfect 20/20 in February thus far! The season total stands at 180.9" as of 7am today. A-Jay 2 Quote
