You are welcome to your opinion mine is different. Without the boat stern with something to prevent weather vaning in a side wind it will turn into the wind. I made a rudder to resolve this problem.

Could you post a pic?  Thanks

No longer have the boat.

Google “Clamp-on Rudder for Small Boats and Square back Canoes.”

I made mine using a old Lowrance Fish Lo Ktor transducer bracket clamp on pole

I've been using this Bull Nose rudder on my canoe for over 10 years now.

Works well.

Can't really see it in this pic, sorry.

I use the same one on the Bass Raider, not perfect but darn close.

My electric motor kayak has a rudder for steering as well as the front motor for steering. Pull up the rudder and I can be running down the lake at almost a 45 degree angle with the motor head straight.

It's a Castle Craft trailer I purchased at the same time I ordered the canoe in 2009.

Model SUT 220-S price has doubled since I got this one.

Decent unit.

It look familiar to my 1956 Tee-Nee

I did add 12” wheels as the 8’s are just to small.
