Fishing Line is rubbing along the rod between the 2nd and 3rd eyelet. When i have the pole bent or if a fish is hooked on and im reeling in..but the line is below the rod in between the 2nd and 3rd eyelet.

It doesn't hurt anything.  If you must have the line free strip all the guides off and add more.  If it's a casting rod make it an acid wrapped rod and put most of the guides on the bottom.

What brand rod is it?  Sound like the guides are spaced out a bit too far.

What brand and how many guides does this rod have? Braid or FC or mono? Spinning or Baitcaster?

I just got back into fishing last summer..always used a spinning reel for most of my childhood..so I wanted to try out a bait caster..so I bought a ugly stik with a abu garcia reel combo from Dicks..just to play with and try out..I'm just new to it so I'm not sure if the line is supposed to be the way it is..it's 10lb mono..

Wow. 😳 That rod definitely needed at least one (probably more) extra guides. If the line merely touches the blank it will reduce casting distance: never seen it that bad. Poor cost-cutting build by the manufacturer.

This rod should have never have passed inspection. Did you just buy it? Take it back. Someone just forgot to mount a guide. Hope you get a replacement

Looks like an Ugly Stik? Afraid that might just be poor design. I've seen a lot of the lower end Ugly Stiks do this.

Cheap rod where they took away one too many guides. Given the way an ugly stick bends, those blanks really should have a few more. But for $30 you’re not going to get much in a rod. There is no defect. It’s not going to break. And it won’t hurt casting distance. Just poor design

Thanks everyone..It is a lower end ugly stik..bought it as a rod and reel combo for 80$ ..but i only bought it to try out a baitcaster, since I've never tried one before. So i didnt wanna spend a bunch of money..just wanted to play around and learn on it....haha..tried it out tonight..the first 20 cast as you all prob know..was absolutely terriable, withbthe bird nesting..hahaha..switch over to my spinning reel, for most of the day just wanted to catch somthing..but by the end of the night i started playing with it a lil and I kinda started figuring a few things out on the baitcaster..

We all start there. Casting a bait caster becomes so much more fun than a spinning rod once you get the hang of it.

 

I've found Lews and Kastking to be a couple brands that have decent products at their lower price points if that's what you're looking for.

Glenn has a good video how to cast a bait casting reel. Adjusting the spool tension knob etc.

Your casting motion with a spinning reel is usually a fast snap cast, can’t do that with bait casting reels. Let the rod launch the lure and your rod is good for learning to cast,

Line touching the blank doesn’t hurt a thing but the rod in your pic is unacceptable. There should be another guide in between right at the apex of the curve.
