I have a 6spd lefty. It's very smooth and I like it. Don't know that I would pay full price over some other options, but if you get the JDM at low to mid $200s... Hard deal to beat!!!

My only reel complaint is I palm my reels while casting and the brake dial moves so easy I bump it up with my index finger and accidently increase the brake setting while casting. My Alphas doesn't do it, so my Zillion must just be loose.

Great reels though!

I have one of each: Zillion, Zillion HD, and Silver Wolf. The Silver Wolf is the only one that has given me issues. The brakes seem to work for about 15-20 casts and then all of a sudden no brakes.

Maybe the inductor is getting stuck sometimes?

Jealousy Envy GIF by The Roku ChannelI’m hoping to add an Alphas or a Zillion for the upcoming season.

The only Daiwa Zillion I own is a 7’3” rod in regular bend. It’s a d**n fine rod, full eva grip is nice albeit slick.

I know this is about reels though.
Only Shimano for me. I do respect Daiwa I’m just not a Twing fan.

I own one, and buying it was a big mistake.  Now the Bait Monkey wont give me a moments peace.  He reminds me how good my Zillion is every time I use one of my other reels.  I have never in the past cared about any financial markets, after buying my Zillion from Japan, I find myself looking up the exchange rate every day, sometimes even twice a day.  I find myself hoping one of my other reels breaks, so I have an excuse to buy another Zillion.  The Bait Monkey even talked me in to using one of my other reels in salt water, with the idea that it could always be replaced by a Zillion.  I refuse to be bullied, and for now I only own one.

Palms much better. Its similar to the bantam and 2020 met if you tried these two.

Thanks. The JDM Zillion has a shorter handle than the US version, yeah?

With the exchange rate I'm tempted.

It’s worth it.  Best Buy on a high end reel going. I’m contemplating another I just don’t have room to carry another

rod.

I don’t own one but I’ve always wanted to try it out. I would totally be down to own one!

Couple things happen over past few years which led to my never buying one.

Some time around when the new reel came out I had a job that had policy which paid for a steez A. This was basically a more expensive made in Japan version of the zillion reel.

I also ended up getting spinning reels and a Conquest BFS from Japan.

I already have a solid line up. Between the Curado K, Bantam, Met MGL, and OG tatula and OG zillion, T3 SV. I never found a place for the new zillion.

Based on the steez A and my T3 SV, I think the zillion would be good for moving baits and the mag breaks would be great for changing out lures often and SV spools super easy to use especially if it’s windy.

For heavy stuff and frogging I like the core solid design on Shimano. I also find, I cast farther with Shimano stuff.

I hope you get one and Share your thoughts.
