Best weight/action for sensitivity?

I am curious what yall think. What is best for ultimate sensitivity in a rod, Medium  heavy,  Heavy,  and Fast or Extra fast?  Lets say this is for a texas rig or medium jig, if it matters. Casting rod

 

I have 2 rods to choose from to make it my dedicated texas rig rod,  the first is a 7'1'' med. hvy. extra fast , the second is a 7'4'' hvy. fast.  Both are St.Croix Legend Extreme casting rods. They both do the job very well, this makes choosing tough.

Nobody can tell better than you,... Having the advantage of having them there in your hands. 

 

Let suggest this,.... Choose the one that lines up better to the weights you are planning to use. Lighter TR would probably be better on the MH and heavier rigs on the Heavy.

The SC LXtreme casting rods are high end 

7’” MHXF rated  1/4-3/4oz, 7’4” rated 3/8-1 1/2 oz are very different rods.

From the specs the 7’1” MHXF would be good for worms and jigs under 1/2 oz, more accurate casting,  7’4” HF fit jigs 1/2 oz to 1 oz heavy cover.

Its hard to say as it varies from person to person. 

Based on what  lures you wish to throw on a set up, I would rock the mh/extra fast rod vs the heavy.

The heavy may be a bit too stiff for what you want to throw.

Thanks for the opinions, but I didnt ask the right question. I am wanting to know which taper should be the most sensitive, not just of the two rods I mentioned, but of bass rods in general, extra fast, fast, mod fast, moderate?  . Also which action/weight usually is the most sensitive in general, heavy, med. heavy, medium?

  I am wanting to know so I  better understand rod ratings and what they mean for sensitivity, and also to help guide my rod choices for certain types of fishing.

 

I currently use the medium heavy extra fast st.croix for my texas rigs, and the 7'4'' heavy fast for carolina rigs.

In general, assuming everything else about the rods are the same, the extra fast action should be the most sensitive due to better vibration transfer. As for power, it depends on the lure weight. You want to be in the sweet spot for maximum sensitivity. If you toss a 1oz jig on a medium rod, or a 1/8oz lure on a heavy rod, in both instances sensitivity will be greatly reduced

IMO Xfast tip is softer then fast being more rigid. X fast will cast weights within the rods rating easier. 

Sensitively is feeling line movement and a soft more flexible tip absorbs line movement reducing feeling line movement feedback but increases visible tip movements. 
The parabolic a rod is the easier lit is to cast lures but softer the rod is you loose line movement feedback and increase tip movements visually like diving crank baits.
